We’re giving Bitbucket a fresh new look and more streamlined navigation as part of Atlassian’s broader visual system journey.

This update aligns Bitbucket with Atlassian’s modern, unified design, and will launch in early 2026.

We’re modernizing navigation to make it faster to access your most relevant content and reduce context switching. The new navigation is designed for clarity, predictability, and scalability as your work grows.
- Find work faster: Improved entry points to repositories, pull requests, and pipelines with clearer grouping.
- Less jumping around: Streamlined paths between projects, repos, branches, and pull requests.
- Built to scale: Navigation that adapts to large workspaces, many repos, and frequent context switches.
Refreshed user experience
- Typography tuned for readability: Improved hierarchy and legibility across dense code and review contexts
- Color system for focus and contrast: Clearer emphasis on primary actions, accessible contrasts, and calmer surfaces to reduce cognitive load
- Iconography that’s cleaner at every size: Improved alignment, stroke consistency, and clarity in high-density lists and diffs
- Components: Updated buttons, inputs, and surfaces for consistency with other Atlassian apps, and improved accessibility support
