PULSE NIGHTCLUB MEMORIAL
Ten years after one of the deadliest mass shootings in modern U.S. history, something sacred is taking shape in Orlando.
The Pulse nightclub building is being torn down — not to erase what happened, but to make way for a permanent memorial honoring the 49 lives taken on June 12, 2016.

Pulse was never just a nightclub.
It was a place of joy. Of belonging. Of chosen family.
And at the heart of this new memorial … that truth will remain.

The design centers on the original footprint of the club.
The dance floor — where people laughed, danced, and lived freely — will be preserved as a symbolic reminder of the life that filled that space.
Artifacts from Pulse will be incorporated, including the original sign and a preserved section of the dance floor itself.
And perhaps most moving of all, there will be a space called the Angel Ellipse — where each of the 49 victims will be honored by name.

There will also be a reflective pool, a memorial pillar, a Survivor’s Common green space, a Survivor’s Tree, and quiet places for reflection.
Construction is expected to begin this fall, with completion planned for 2027.
There’s something deeply tender about this moment. Because remembrance isn’t about staying frozen in grief. It’s about carrying love forward.
It’s about honoring not just how these lives were lost … but how they were lived.

The music. The laughter. The freedom of being fully yourself.
We remember the 49. We honor the survivors.
We stand with the families.
And we keep working toward a world where LGBTQ+ people are safe, celebrated, and free — everywhere.
Always.
