Making changes….in my living room

In a recent post, I sadly admitted to spending far too much time inside my house. Because of the time spent inside, I have become insanely bored with the décor. Yes, if I had my way I would redecorate on a monthly basis. Unfortunately, time and money have not allowed me to live out this dream.

We are going on almost THREE years in our very first home together. During that time we’ve made small changes, bought new furniture and decorated with pictures and inspiration. I’ve recently made it my mission to make everything in our home “ours” through buying new things and making changes to the “old”. I’ve sacrificed a new fall wardrobe to dress our home instead!

I had been complaining about the rickety old end table we bought at a garage sale, for our first apartment out of college. The end table served its purpose for the past five years (and many before that), but I decided I could no longer tolerate it. Just as I was dreaming up a picture perfect pair of end tables, I discovered S. Jaye Goodies via Facebook. Two wood end tables were available for customization. A few Facebook messages and a couple of weeks later, I was the proud owner of two “new” grey end tables.

We added a new area rug to the mix (Lowes) along with a couple of discounted throw pillows (JcPenney). Our living room looks like a brand new place, which is exactly what I needed during this never-ending rut that I’ve been in!

Next up: A sassy grey/floral accent chair and a new lamp.

My iPhone has been taking horrendous pictures, so please forgive me. The new area rug is from Lowe’s and the fabulous end table from S.Jaye Goodies. The picture frames were clearance at Pier 1!
