Day 4625: Kind Words

I love sharing kind words, so I asked this question last night on social media.

Earlier in the evening, people at my favorite restaurant said some kind words about playing my new live album there in the future. For my part, I had many kind words to say about their amazing dishes.

Day 4624: Favorite restaurants

Now that I’m on vacation and down to my fighting weight (whatever that means), I’m thinking about favorite restaurants.

My goal is to enjoy great food in favorite restaurants near Boston and also in Charleston, South Carolina when I’m there for a group therapy training next week.

Last night, I asked a question about favorite restaurants on Twitter.

I think people like sharing about their favorite restaurants.

Yesterday evening, my husband and o ate at one of our favorite restaurants and then went on our traditional walk looking for rabbits.

Tonight, we are going to another favorite restaurant which might actually have toasted marshmallow and bacon on the menu. I’m going to tell them that they can stream my new album there if they want.

Day 4623: Dreams

Day 4622: Bravery

Because I have fears about putting myself out there, it takes bravery for me to promote my music to friends and strangers. Also, because using new technology scares me, I summoned up some bravery yesterday to create a “hub link” that directs people to my music, my YouTube channel, my Twitter account, and this blog.

It also takes bravery for me to call myself “brave.”

Day 4621: Excuses

I don’t want to make excuses for having mixed feelings about excuses.

When I saw today’s Daily Bitch calendar…

… I knew I wanted to ask a question on social media about excuses.

I’m not going to make excuses for including so many responses about excuses because I love other people’s perspectives and ingenuity.

My excuses for not promoting my new album more aggressively are (1) I don’t like bothering people and (2) I need a break!

On Just Because Day, “just because” seems like a fine excuse.

My excuses for not including “I Don’t Wanna Be Late (Don’t Wanna Be Early Either)” on my new album were (1) it was too long and (2) it needed the video context of the live concert to work. Also, a musician I know walked out on me when I was rehearsing it with him. What do you think about those excuses?

Day 4619: Strange

These are strange times, my dear readers, and my fear is that we are getting too complacent with strange.

It’s going to be strange to facilitate groups without my patient who recently died.

The week before I leave on vacation always feels strange to me.

Last Monday, the ferry into Boston was cancelled at the last minute because of choppy waters, which was very strange.

It’s strange that my music is now on Spotify and that Spotify somehow puts together lists of songs that are as strange as mine.

Day 4618: Pride

The first thing I remember hearing about pride was “Pride goeth before a fall.”

When I look up quotes about pride now, many of them imply that pride is bad.

This definition of pride is more neutral and even positive.

Day 4617: Unfinished Business

Today I have unfinished business from yesterday’s blog post, which announced the release of my live album.

Day 4616: Priorities

My priority this morning was to post this information on Spotify for my song “Don’t Kill Yourself.”

I have so many other things to do today and it helps to be aware of your priorities.
