Am reading Marley and Me… some of it is really funny, other parts are touching, then appalling, choke collars and kicking the dog to stop it from jumping up, barbaric, and I can also relate to some of it, having a wild and sometimes crazy girl dog… the author and his wife were on Dog Whisperer the other night with another dog named Gracie who was eating their chickens, yuck, and Cesar Milan helped them with that problem and others…
she has been giving people attitude for having the audacity to eat and not feed her their food… as well as stalking people, she will get down on all four paws, tail wagging and just wait for the person she wants to meet to come and then when they get near, she will lick their feet and say hello … quite funny… people are usually amused… some ignore her, how dare they…
she is having a lot of fun at the beach, and we found a fenced area where she can also run off leash nearby, within 3 minutes from where we are staying… yesterday, she met a couple of dogs to run and play with and it was really great… she hasn’t run like that in months. this male dog was outside the fence and she was inside and they just ran and ran back and forth and the other dog barked at her… when he came inside, it wasn’t that great, he was being a male dog, and she was pushing him away, so it was better when he was on the other side of the fence…. we will go back there today and every day while we are here… the owner told me about a place in Carmel that sells raw dog food, raw lamb, raw beef, raw bones, etc. affordable he said, will check it out on Monday… it’s called the Raw Connection in Carmel.
this neighborhood has a lot of cats, dogs and rabbits, runaway bunnies, so every time she goes out, she is on the lookout for cats and bunnies to chase… and other dogs to play with… there was another little tiny white dog who just wanted to play with her, they sniffed one another a few times yesterday and the dog escaped her owner and came running over to play twice… really cute dog … there are also supposed to be skunks here but have not seen any and hope we don’t…
it’s almost 2008, whooosh, where has the time flown? this has been a very interesting year… lots of good things… went to Maui for a press trip right before Valentine’s Day, became a dog mom to the sweetest girl dog in the world, hah, traveled a lot, went to Oregon, finally, to Monterey 3-4 times, and spent time in the Sequoia National Forest/Kings Canyon, had a job there… what a long strange trip it has been…
