A Presentation Outfit for Tree Trimming!

Image

Master wants to decorate His Christmas Tree this weekend – dievca is planning on using Jayne Mansfield as inspiration! Should be fun ~ XO

thinking about it – etiquette

Image

ImageMaster and His dievca went out for Thai Food after a doozy of a day.  It was early, casual and relaxed.  A couple of older Ladies sat at the next table.

At the end of their meal, one Lady furtively whipped out a “stasher” bag and packed up her leftovers. dievca’s “reduce waste” heart glowed. dievca mentioned something about the stasher bag and the Lady bounced between complete embarrassment and pride.

Should the Lady be embarrassed about bringing a container for leftovers?
dievca knows she shouldn’t have mentioned it, she was just so excited…

It was a casual restaurant.

Master took His leftovers in a plastic container offer by the restaurant….

What is the etiquette?

a better Full Moon (NYC)

Traveling West and beyond

Flying in the 1930's

Master had to travel to Asia for work. dievca caught a ride with Him to LAX for the Holiday. she’ll be back in 10 days, Master will be back in 5 weeks.  Its just how the cookie crumbles.

If you are traveling for the Thanksgiving Holiday – safe travels and find yourself a nice social game of Bridge. XO

dievca lost a bet to Master: Baseball

The LA Dodgers won the World Series in decisive manner!  dievca put $5 on the Yankees just to give Master heck.  They did shake hands. she’ll pay out tomorrow. XO

The LA Dodgers do have a fantastic team and Freddie Freeman is amazing.

Now if dievca’s Chicago Cubs can get it together for next year… (always a Cubs’ fan lament)

Pertinent questions when Presenting

BDSM comic bum look big

Master and dievca had a discussion

Screenshot_20231008_203626_Instagram

Years ago, Master and dievca had a discussion because dievca would ask Master to text her when He arrived home.  He was generous enough to do it, yet, He would tease dievca about it. “I don’t even ask my kids to let me know they got home ok.”  dievca stated that was sad because her Parents asked her to call every single time and her oldest brother does it to her, too.

dievca has noticed that Master is now asking his kids to let him know when they are done with a flight or when they get home.

It makes her heart happy.

A simple show of love~

Feeling guilty…

We all know that dievca is short and has an athletic build – add a little menopause belly in there.  Humorous, as her swim training is causing her shoulders and arms to gain muscle yet she struggles to keep the muscle on her problem knee’s quad and glute. (the leg doesn’t straighten completely – makes for a lot of work to keep muscle).

Anyways…

she’s been stripping and selling her closet.  More sold to Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads this week.

At lunch, Master asked if she is refilling her closet.

dievca stuttered with her answer because – she had just paid full price for three items.

she doesn’t look anything like these models, but the items fit her well, except for the pants having to be hemmed…

Lovely Lunch

It was 38 F (3.3C) and sunny when dievca hitched a ride on a bus to cross to the East Side.  Lunch at the Met with Master.  They have a “farm-to-table” restaurant which looks over Central Park – mostly for the “Members of the Met”.

With all their travelling – dievca and Master missed each others birthday, so they decided on a lovely lunch with activities after to celebrate ~ the spontaneous nap in the autumn sunshine was a highlight.

Sometimes it is the simple things that make Life worth living.

Mussels with Master and Sylvia Plath

Mussels

Master and dievca enjoyed a an evening of mussels at the B. Cafe on the UES

Mondays are a quiet dining night in NYC, so the experience was low-key and relaxed.  The mussels were fresh and well-cooked.

Years ago, a bartender explained to dievca how you can have excellent mussels all year on the East Coast.  The mussel are sourced from the Maine on down the Atlantic Coast depending upon the season.  Hence, good mussels all year.  At the time, dievca was confused because the mussel season in Europe was shorter (as far as she knew).

Let’s honor the joy brought by a messy job with Sylvia Plath:

Mussel Hunter At Rock Harbor

I came before the water —-
Colorists came to get the
Good of the Cape light that scours
Sand grit to sided crystal
And buffs and sleeks the blunt hulls
Of the three fishing smacks beached
On the bank of the river’s

Backtracking tail. I’d come for
Free fish-bait: the blue mussels
Clumped like bulbs at the grassroot
Margin of the tidal pools.
Dawn tide stood dead low. I smelt
Mud stench, shell guts, gulls’ leavings;
Heard a queer crusty scrabble

Cease, and I neared the silenced
Edge of a cratered pool-bed.
The mussels hung dull blue and
Conspicuous, yet it seemed
A sly world’s hinges had swung
Shut against me. All held still.
Though I counted scant seconds,

Enough ages lapsed to win
Confidence of safe-conduct
In the wary other world
Eyeing me. Grass put forth claws,
Small mud knobs, nudged from under,
Displaced their domes as tiny
Knights might doff their casques. The crabs

Inched from their pygmy burrows
And from the trench-dug mud, all Camouflaged in mottled mail
Of browns and greens. Each wore one
Claw swollen to a shield large
As itself—no fiddler’s arm
Grown Gargantuan by trade,

But grown grimly, and grimly
Borne, for a use beyond my
Guessing of it. Sibilant
Mass-motived hordes, they sidled
Out in a converging stream
Toward the pool-mouth, perhaps to
Meet the thin and sluggish thread

Of sea retracing its tide-
Way up the river-basin.
Or to avoid me. They moved
Obliquely with a dry-wet
Sound, with a glittery wisp
And trickle. Could they feel mud
Pleasurable under claws

As I could between bare toes?
That question ended it—I
Stood shut out, for once, for all,
Puzzling the passage of their
Absolutely alien
Order as I might puzzle
At the clear tail of Halley’s

Comet coolly giving my
Orbit the go-by, made known
By a family name it
Knew nothing of. So the crabs
Went about their business, which
Wasn’t fiddling, and I filled
A big handkerchief with blue

Mussels. From what the crabs saw,
If they could see, I was one
Two-legged mussel-picker.
High on the airy thatching
Of the dense grasses I found
The husk of a fiddler-crab,
Intact, strangely strayed above

His world of mud—green color
And innards bleached out blown off
Somewhere by much sun and wind;
There was no telling if he’d
Died recluse of suicide
Or headstrong Columbus crab.
The crab-face, etched and set there,

Grimaced as skulls grimace: it
Had an Oriental look,
A samurai death mask done
On a tiger tooth, less for
Art’s sake than God’s. Far from sea —-
Where red-freckled crab-backs, claws
And whole crabs, dead, their soggy

Bellies pallid and upturned,
Perform their shambling waltzes
On the waves’ dissolving turn
And return, losing themselves
Bit by bit to their friendly
Element—this relic saved
Face, to face the bald-faced sun.

I think of all the people I have touched and those who have touched me. Their memories swirl in my brain, clear or distorted, but they are there. Especially, those I have loved-whom I still love because they shared something special with me. The beauty doesn’t go away. Ghosts.

Yet, I am always surprised when someone keeps the ghost of me in them and the call from the blue confirms their memories. It never fails to amaze and make me smile. You never know how you will touch someone.
