The World Sometimes Steals Our Mind

and plays tricks on us

leaving us losers

finally

we are such

insignificant creatures

our lives

blowing in the wind

and when we meet our end

the pain is real

that is the brutal

part of life

the sorrow in your heart

your broken body

and death

that takes your very breath

and how you leave

this universe

in shock

and agony.

Wake

and you will suffer

in this world

the moon your mother

will wipe your tears

but that won’t be enough

the universe is brutal

it will hurt you

and the sun

your father

won’t be able

to help you

you will hold

your aching belly

and weep

your wound

is really deep

and the cosmos

has turned into

a rubbish heap

onto which

you are dumped

and now you yearn

for death

you get up and run

looking for it

you shout

death death

where are you

come take my life

I have had enough.

Crying

is a surprise

that comes upon you

anytime

tears from sadness

or some sad memory

how exposed we are

to danger to death

and our loved ones

and everyone

and my neighbours chat

though anything

could happen anytime

and parting is also pain

our memories our love

is stirred

our tenderness touched

tears flow

and unhappiness

squeezes our heads

our bodies

how brutal the universe is

how it just cannot see

what is happening to us

how it is blind

and what are we

to make of this

we tiny creatures

who live

we wail and we cry

till we die.
