Dogs Come Yelping Out of the Sky

conversations drift through my mind

faces can be misread

air can become poison

the sink is of particular value to me

through it I enter Paradise

where a yellow car

takes me around

hill country is all rough edges

its beauty its babies being born

how they cry

our sorrow though has got stuck

inside us

and we just can’t pull it out

although we try so hard

it doesn’t yield

we are badly off now

we have nothing in our hands

we are all garbage and rubbish

and hidden dark clouds

begin to rain till we tremble.

I Give my Eyes to the Wind

for them to cool

I open my mouth to eat

the clouds

and drink their water

for my mind to begin

to splash and swim

the oceans

and trees grow

out of my head

forests with birds

and animals

and teeming

with life

and then I start

to sing

and it is such

an overwhelming

feeling

to see

the entire Universe

stand and listen.

The Sun Today Kissed Me

and the air

made love

to every pore

in my body

and there were

about fifty women

hoeing government land

nearby

in their colourful scarves

and loose shirts

and long skirts

and I embraced

the sunlight in my arms

and danced with the forests

and mountains in delight

and when we laughed

the clouds moved

in the sky

swaying with each other

roaring in happiness.

My Body has Multiplied

my mind has broken down

like an old jalopy

only children are true

we are all scared

and screaming

in madness

as we come down

the street

blown by the

angry wind

the world is false

it was always

out to kill us

O see us here

blood splattered

murdered by the clouds.

Sadness Clouds This World

of grey

in my eyes

there is only

disillusionment

and all that

I see and hear

makes me feel worse

then my mind shatters

like glass

and the planet

is in pieces

blood splattered

and now there is

only darkness

now that everyone

and everything

is gone

now death reigns

and there is no dawn.

All Birds Fly In My Mind

like it was the sky

black and winging

they go on and on

and my thoughts

move around like

clouds

and suddenly there

is rain

and the world

is so beautiful

the wet trees

and green leaves sway

and the mountains sing

and I grow so ecstatic

I stomp and dance

over them.
