hit us like a furnace

had opened

and we knew it was

the devil breathing fire

it was cursing aloud

while we were asleep

it was plotting to kill us

making roaring

noises of wickedness

bloodcurdling howls

that tore the night

in flames

and we were terrified

we began to flee

the great ogre

and its hordes

of followers screeching

were chasing us

with maddening evil

and we ran as fast

as we could

although most

of us were dying

melting in the inferno

we had done no wrong

they just hated us

some of them also carried

sharp weapons to spear

pregnant women

and finally there were

just a few of us left

and we were slowing down

in exhaustion

almost all of us were dead

and in the end

our bodies burst

into liquified flesh

none of us are now alive

into oblivion we dive.
