Once a Destructive Seductress

made me dance to her tune

I was crazy about her as a loon

she was more beautiful than the moon

but over a while I realised she was a bane

than a boon

when I met her for the first time

before leaving she gave me

a come hither look

and said ok bye maybe we’ll meet

sometime again

like a fisher she had thrown me

a hook

and I fell for it like a fool

I broke my own rule

about being careful

later she showed me her cleavage

and shook her pendant earrings

and said I want you to be

in love with me

although I don’t love you

I spent sleepless nights

calling out her name

I sent her love poems

while she treated me

like shit

till I slowly came out of it

bit by bit

now here I sit

laughing at myself

for being such a stupid git

though at that time

I was by Cupid’s arrow hit

and a fire was lit

in my stomach’s pit

and for this life

I became unfit

today thankfully

I have the wit

to take the whole thing

in the right spirit.

Magic Flow From My Fingers

I say

and I turn into

a bird

this golden day

with such

a sweet song

the world

is happy

the green trees

dance

and the blue sky

sings along

with me

right on key

and the cosmos

claps in joy

as I fly

and now I see

all of you

tapping your feet

to my tune

and waving

and shouting hi

and I am

so ecstatic

I cry.
