“How Long Will You Waver Between Two Opinions?” https://calvarychapelkaneohe.subspla.sh/mjggccw In this Prophecy update by Pastor JD Farag, he “talks about the eerily similar parallels between Elijah’s day then, and the last days now, specific to the power of the Holy Spirit drawing us near to God, or the powerful pull of the world distancing us from God.”
And indeed, how long will the Christian church of America in the words of Elijah the prophet of God in 1 Kings 18:21, “”falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.”” Contrary to what Jonathan Cahn is propagating these days, Baal is still alive and well in the United States of America, and God’s judgment has not been stayed but rather has been accelerated with this election. These are indeed, the days of Elijah. These are indeed the days of Jezebel and Ahab and all the prophets of Baal. These are indeed dark days of “trouble and famine and sword” as the song goes. But these are also the days wherein God is calling on His people to quit following after the ways and cares of the world and worldly wisdom that highly esteems seeking one’s own welfare and wealth, and to instead, follow Him on the unpopular narrow path of denying oneself, losing one’s life, and taking up one’s cross.
There is only one way wherein God’s people are to walk, and yet they are of a divided mind and divided hearts, hoping, skipping and jumping around with their eclectic syncratistic system of beliefs. The book of James lays this out quite plainly while also tying in the incredible story of Elijah of 1 Kings 18. Just as in Elijah’s day, the believers of James’ day saw riches as a sign of blessing, and thus were not only showing favoritism to the rich but were also jockeying for their own positions of wealth and power. Worldly wisdom taught them to look respectfully upon the wealthy, and in their hearts a monetary idol was erected, producing competitiveness among them, envy in their hearts, and selfishly ambitious prayers all while deceptively thinking they were doing the wise thing for themselves and their families. But, “15This wisdom,” according to the Lord, “does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” (James 3).
And thus, James in chapter 4 states frankly, “4Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?…7Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.” And in James 5 he continues, “1Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.”
The worldliness in the American church is not to be treated lightly, for it is an abomination before God. He has called His people covered by the blood of Jesus and the righteousness of God in Christ, to be holy and set apart. In the days of Noah it is said that all flesh had corrupted itself before our holy God, and Jesus said this would happen again. But the corruption goes deeper than mere genetic hybrids and transhumanism, it goes to the very heart of even the Body of Christ who has become wrinkled and spotted double-minded Church that has heaped up all the comforts to preserve themselves in the last days and secured for themselves a government that they feel strongly will make America great again so that they will dwell in peace and security. They have justified this worldly wisdom of self-preservation by saying it is altruistically for their kids and grandkids, but in reality it is an adulteress love of the world and this life that has corrupted their garments.
Instead, believers to cease their adulteress relationship with the world, and were instead to repent and even to then glory in their poverty and suffering (James 1:2-11), and to “7Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord…Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.” (James 5) And instead of seeking the pleasures of this life and favoritism with the rich, the church is called to lives of prayer – lives like that of Elijah. For, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
America being prosperous is not our blessed hope nor the hope of our kids or grandkids. Our national leadership no matter how charismatic and full of promises is not our hope and ought not to be our hope nor our praise. And though there would be a multitude who attribute this new administration to God, the heart of the matter is that they are lauding a human as their hope. And regarding this God says, “5Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17).
How long will Christians in America be divided in their mind, divided in their devotion, divided in their allegiance, divided in their beliefs, and divided amongst one another? Are you so deceived and mesmerized that you have forgotten that divided we fall??? Politics is not your answer. America is not your answer. Trump is not your answer. Nothing of this world nor in their world nor pertaining to this world, oh Christian, is your answer. For this world is not nor has ever been your home! Have you forgotten that we are citizens of a heavenly city, and are ambassadors of a King of an endless kingdom. Ambassadors do not get entangled in the affairs of the nation to which they are sent, but are all about representing the King that they serve. Why then are you so entangled, oh Christians of America????
The video of Pastor JD Farag reminds Christians living in America that our hope is the blessed hope of Jesus’ soon return (Titus 2:13) not America’s renewed greatness. Even as Jeremiah 17 says, 7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.”
There is no other hope for us, period. Jesus is our savior. Jesus is our retribution. Jesus is our Lord. Jesus is our defender. Jesus is our judge. Jesus is our protector. Jesus is our provider. Jesus is our peace. There is no other hope but King Jesus. Anything else other than our heavenly home and anyone else other than our heavenly soon coming King is a deception and worthy of our outright rejection. Take to heart and “25See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12). “I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.” (Isaiah 42).
And as Pastor JD so astutely points out, Elijah was caught up — which is a picture of the rapture. After three and a half years of famine, Elijah gathered all the people together and all the false prophets of Baal and Asherah and called on the people to chose whom they would serve completely with their whole and undivided heart. Soon thereafter, Elijah was caught up by God’s chariot into heaven.
The hour is still late. The clock has not turned back like King Hezekiah’s sun dial. The New World Order is still being established, nations are calling for peace and security, there are still wars and rumors of wars, there are still a plethora of false prophets prophesying good things, famines, pestilences, and intensified persecution. The end of the age is still upon us, and deception is still everywhere just like Jesus said. Let us therefore take Jesus’ caution in Luke 21:34-36 seriously to not be “weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Jesus is coming soon. Let’s be ready!
Fervently,
