it’s good to still see people
being kinder than they should be
i guess that means hope can thrive
but is it enough
does our existence have a chance then
to reach atonement and growth
because there are inhabitants choosing to be
the shining apotheosis of humanity
will future generations be proud
if cooperation, kindness, and compassion
drive the deeds to heal this planet
for its betterment and our survival
we have to try

finger-like reach
grasping
holding on
polluting our existence
humanoids
the top of the food chain
decided a long time ago
to dominate all
in one way or another
they’ll be the death of us
choke the life right out of us
in every way possible
muddy our air
stain our water
wreak havoc on our land
