When gifted with new wheels self-propelled - it's best go slow for you never really know for sure what's waiting down below
Wheelchairs are fantastic for getting one around but slopes and any gradient out there that I have found Do not mix well. Momentum tends to carry one away and it's best to not find out the outcome of that one foray
But it almost did when parking when I thought I'd have a go and suddenly was whizzing down a slope and far from slow Caught it with the handbrake thank goodness; won't do that again in any hurry Learnt my lesson. That's a fact
Decided to resite our downstairs loo but the placement may be wrong This may be a little public and I'm concerned about the pong Access may too be restricted but let's see how things pan out Cos we can always put it back If the placement is in doubt
Mohican equipped I am ready to face once more again now the old human race Have had it in mind for a very long time but finally now I have one that's mine And no the grey hair won't often be here colours instead to bring lots of cheer Yes I'm in my sixties and have cancer to boot but none of that stops me from having a hoot Cock-a-hoop to the world, this is the new me Flipping the finger with a loud tee tee hee
A new book so a new poem
as it is the thing to do
with virgin pages waiting
for some words quite fresh and new
So here are several lines
of rhyming verse to fit
the nuance of that simple plea
with nonchalance and wit
And as this book is likely
to last perhaps a year
expect to see more poems
like this in this space appear
It's been said that the darkness
with the moon in the sky
speaks of the night time
though morning is nigh
Not that you'd know for
there's no light in sight
not even an inkling
in the blackness of night
Yet what is that glow
in the east very feint?
Yes, that is the the day
though at present it ain't!
This Red Leicester cheese
is completely divine
but this is not yours
for it's wholly mine
But if you're near Co-Op
go get some today
'cos your mouth will thank me
in every which way
We'd heard scampering for several days
and the evidence was there
crumbs in all the cupboards as
our food they'd come to share
But really they weren't welcome
so we brought some humane traps
and tempting them with biscuits
we caught the little chaps
Then one by one I introduced them
to the garden there to learn
the repatriation one way trip
and never to return
It's 'twos day' here a play on words
but rightful when you think
of all the 'twos' that on this day
pass by in just a blink
Twenty-second of the second
month in twenty-two
and falling on a Tuesday
so it seemed the thing to do
...all about me and my life in words. I write most days, carrying an ideas book around in which I capture a word snapshot of life around me. So there's a lot here about Sussex and the sea and anything else I see that inspires.
The pictures are mine too. Some taken to match a poem; some poems written to match a pic; others chosen because they work well with words written.
Jemverse is life in words. Hope you enjoy the reading as much as I enjoy the writing...
