Gone Glamping

Getting Ready

It's getting a little crazy around here with Mama and Daddy running around getting things ready for our Mini BAR trip. We will be heading out later this week to Rosy's home state of Utah to meet with a few of our blog furiends AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, my gal Mabel!

I don't know about all the car riding but, I think it's going to be great to spend some quality family time together. All of us in one big wheelie house sure sounds like FUN! Wait a minute, I sure hope Rosy isn't scared of the wheelie house!

I won't be afraid Jakey, ummmm, what is a wheelie house anyways?? I 'm just excited that I get to play with my Uncles Murphy and Stanley!

A Walk in the Forest on Final Fiction Nature Friday

As the end of April draws near, we reach that magical day when Nature Friday and Final Friday Fiction come together! Today I, Jakey, am going to tell you a story based on a recent walk I took along a forest trail!

This month's "page 87" is from Angel Bilbo's favorite book, The Hobbit, written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

-line 8 ~ as cold as death

It was a beautiful Spring day, not nearly as cold as it had been the day before, when Mama and I decided to hike along a forest trail.

I always love feeling the sun through the trees and seeing the shadows it makes on the trail.

We passed a few big redwood trees, and their trunks. This one even has moss growing on it!

Look at these leaves! They are almost as big as I am!

We stopped to enjoy a serenade by a pretty stream next to our trail...

The sound of the water is so relaxing, don't you think?

I also took the time to smell the flowers. I am always thinking how I should tell Arty and Rosy to slow down a bit more and enjoy nature. Most of the time they speed walk but I like to meander and enjoy all the great sights and smells!

Mama saw some pretty Forget Me Nots right next to the trail.

As we headed back to the car we saw this cute little Banana Slug crossing the trail...a sure sign it's going to be a wonderful weekend!!

Thankful Thursday!

Rosy here today to let you know how much we are thankful for our freshly mowed green, green grass!

It almost smells like Summer! It's nice to be outside with my brothers, Mama even comes to hang out with us...

She brought the treats out didn't she? We don't work for free!

Did Mama just say we are going to eat dinner sooner, Rosy??

Ummmm...boyz....Quick, go hide!!!

I'm pretty sure she says she's thankful she's taking us to the groomer!

A Whirlwind Tour of Napa Valley

Arty here today to tell you about my whirlwind visit to Napa Valley last weekend! It all started when I told Daddy he had been working too hard and needed to get away for a relaxing day away from the house!

This is the surprised look on my face when Mama said, since it was my idea, I could come along while Jakey and Rosy went to camp for the day!

(...or maybe it was because I do better with the pawrents, than I do at camp...whichever)

I must say, I picked the pawfect weekend! The sun was out in full force when we made the 5 hour trip from our place to Wine Country! We even stopped at a nice rest area to stretch our paws. These itsy bitsy daisies were everywhere!

We arrived at the winery just in time for our wine tasting reservation.

I changed into my fancy winery cap and tie, then found us a table on the tasting room porch. I brought my own bottle of Rose wine to ~~squeak~~ drink and before I knew it, I found a new friend!

This is Fitzy, she was also there helping her pawrents pick up their wine. She was a very friendly girl and kept flirting with me! I told her about my best gal Mabel, and how I was going to be seeing her soon. I think she finally got the message, and went back to wine tasting with her pawrents :-)
