I’ve gotten better at doing many things with my non-dominant hand, but my handwriting still has a long way to go! Maybe that special lined paper would help, LOL.

2 OctYahoo! has a News Digest app that presents summaries of top news stories. From what I can tell, they are relying on programming to pick out and highlight pull-quotes with attributions. You would not believe how often the attributions are incorrect, often with results that are equal parts amusing and horrifying.
I’ve collected a few recent specimens with context provided in the captions. The moral of this story is that you must exercise caution when letting computers replace skilled human beings.

Quote from Stephen King about TV adaptation of his book incorrectly attributed to Lee Harvey Oswald.

Quote incorrectly attributed to the subject of the manhunt. Keeping law enforcement personnel safe doesn’t seem to be his goal.

Quote incorrectly attributed to the teacher. It’s actually from City Department of Education spokesperson.

Quote is actually from the UN Security Council’s draft resolution. Rather the opposite of what Netanyahu would say.

25 JanI thought I’d share a couple of quick moral axioms gleaned from history books and biographies:
If you’re a monarch or an autocrat or some type, it’s fine to take a lover, regardless of your marital status. However, if you’re a woman, make sure the object of your affection isn’t too much younger than you. Nobody likes a royal cougar.
Also, the nobility loves first cousins. Literally.
