Changing The Narrative

Why would you do that? Is it a good or bad thing to change the narrative?

People don’t always like the news or information being presented. Sometimes organizations try to influence the public’s opinion about people, events, or products through advertising.

“Advertising influences consumers’ purchasing decisions: Advertising plays a significant role in shaping consumers’ buying behavior. Ads are designed to create a sense of urgency, need, or desire in the minds of consumers, which can persuade them to buy a product or service.

Advertising affects consumers’ perception of a brand: Advertising can impact how consumers perceive a brand. A well-crafted ad campaign can create a positive brand image in the minds of customers, while a poorly executed campaign can tarnish a brand’s image.

Advertising creates brand loyalty: Consistent advertising efforts can create brand loyalty among consumers. When a consumer repeatedly sees an ad for a particular brand, they develop trust in the brand and are more likely to remain loyal to it.

Advertising shapes consumers’ preferences and attitudes: Advertising can shape consumers’ attitudes towards a particular product, service or brand. It can influence how they perceive a brand’s value, quality, and benefits, influencing their preferences.” (1)

Propaganda is the organized dissemination of information, ideas, or opinions, often biased or misleading, aimed at influencing public opinion or promoting a particular agenda. It can be found in various forms, including media, advertisements, and political campaigns. (2) Propaganda is form of advertising, instead of a physical product it is for the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person. (3)

Changing the narrative could use extreme measures such a censorship of opposing views. In the USA we have the First Amendment which includes a Freedom of Speech and a Freedom to petition our government for redress of grievances. Not every country permits Free Speech which runs counter to position of those in authority.

Some in the USA would like to eradicate the First Amendment. There is “a report at Complete Colorado explains how majority Democrats in the state are trying to banish citizen comment from the state’s “democracy.” Democrats hold the majority in both the House and Senate in Colorado, as well as the governor’s office.” (4)

Changing the narrative is not new; the first recorded instance goes back to the Garden of Eden. The devil lied to Eve:

“2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” “Genesis 3: 3-5

The devil succeeded in changing the narrative which caused sin to enter the world. Sin has to be paid for; Jesus paid the price on the Cross for us in order that we would not have to make that payment.

After Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy Cain was not successful in changing the narrative with God, Genesis 4. Cain denied killing Abel, Cain was held accountable for his lying to God and for killing his brother Abel.

Caution for language

Remember this?

We need to ask questions and use wisdom and discernment when listening to any narrative.  The best wisdom and discernment comes from God. Prayer will give you access to God’s wisdom and discernment.

A lie can travel around the world before the truth can get its slippers on.

Keep looking up.

Leaps and Bounds

April 3, 2025

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

April 2, 2020

Some change is slow: some sprint right past us.

The phrase “by leaps and bounds” illustrates rapid and substantial growth or improvement. It paints a vivid picture of swift, extensive progression, akin to a person or entity leaping forward to cover considerable ground or advance notably. (1)

Deer running and leaping through a field as they cover a large amount of ground in a short period of time is a good word picture.

The rumble in Europe after World War Two quickly became nice resorts, housing, manufacturing, tourist areas, and prosperity in a short period of time.  There wasn’t any property or income to tax.

The Marshall Plan was a U.S. initiative enacted in 1948 to provide economic aid to Western Europe after World War II, aimed at rebuilding war-torn economies and preventing the spread of communism. It allocated $13.3 billion (equivalent to about $173.8 billion today) to help restore infrastructure and promote political stability in the region. This was accomplished by leveraging available cash and trading it at higher levels. A small amount of cash created a large amount of cash to restore and rebuilt Europe. The plan made some people uncomfortable until they saw results.

Today’s banks leverage your ten dollar deposit and lend one hundred dollars based upon your ten dollar deposit. Communities are built and maintained based upon many ten dollar deposits. This plan made some people uncomfortable until they saw results. Today’s banks exist by this plan.

The Gospel of Matthew in the Bible tells us of a beautiful story of how Jesus miraculously fed 5,000 men with five loaves of bread and two fish.

Five thousand men decided to seek Jesus first, getting out of their comfort zone to hear the word that will bring salvation and healing to their life. They received the word, and then other things were added unto them as well. When we seek after Him, everything about our lives will fall into place.

He will take care of all our needs both spiritually and physically. Jesus will not let you down, for with Him all things are possible. Make a decision today to seek and follow Jesus, your life will never remain the same. (2)

Where Does “By Leaps and Bounds” Come From?

Its history traces back to Shakespearean times, indicating that it has been in use for several centuries. The phrase is considered redundant because both “leaps” and “bounds” essentially mean “spring” or “jump.” However, this redundancy serves to emphasize the speed and extent of the progress being described. The phrase has been widely adopted to describe anything from personal growth to business expansion, emphasizing that the subject has moved ahead quickly, often bypassing normal steps of progression.

Historical Example

And turn’d up bucklers, glitter’d as they roll’d.

High o’er the furging tide, by leaps and bounds,

He wades, and mounts; the parted wave refounds.

– Iliad by Homer, 1790

There are times when your comfort zone will prevent you from receiving Blessings which are available to you. Keep an ear and eye out for your next leaps and bounds moment. Enjoy the Blessings.

Obey Who

March 6, 2025
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

March 3, 2025

The Bible speaks very clearly about the relationship between the believer and the government. We are to obey governmental authorities, and the government is to treat us justly and fairly. Even when the government does not live up to its role, we are still to live up to ours. Finally, when the government asks us to do something that is in direct disobedience to God’s Word, we are to disobey the government in faithful confidence of the Lord’s power to protect us.  (1)

The instructions to government “masters” are just as clear and just as numerous. Jesus modeled the behavior and attitude every leader or authority should take. “Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many’” (Matthew 20:25-28). A government or authority exists to serve those governed. (1)

How many times has the next verse been brow beaten from pulpits and other places? Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13:1 ESV.  This is a sad example of taking scripture out of context. No one can fully understand the scriptures by cherry picking scriptures.

When God’s Word, the scriptures, conflict with a rule, regulation or law set forth by man’s leaders, follow God.  But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. Act 5:29 (NKJV)

The conflict could create fear, anxiety, and consternation by those who are caught in the middle of God’s law and man’s law. Rest assured God honors those who honor Him.

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 1 Peter 2:16 ESV

In the Old Testament, Daniel is a model we should use when it comes to our relationship with government. The Babylonians were given authority over the Jews because of the Jews’ disobedience. Daniel worked himself into the highest levels of this pagan and unbelieving government. Although the rulers respected Daniel’s God, their lives and actions show they did not believe.

Daniel served the king as a true servant when he requested the wise men not be executed for failing to interpret the king’s dream. Instead, he asked for the key to interpret the dream from God and saved those, including himself, who would have been executed. While Daniel was in the royal court, his three friends refused to bow to the idol erected by King Nebuchadnezzar and were sentenced to death in the furnace (Daniel 3:12-15). Their response was confident faith. They did not defend themselves, but instead told the king their God would save them, adding that even if He didn’t, they still would not worship or serve Nebuchadnezzar’s gods (Daniel 3:16-18). (1)

If you need an answer why not search the best source available, the Scriptures. The habit of searching the Scriptures will alleviate fear, anxiety, and consternation and replace it with peace, joy and real freedom overflowing from your heart.

Choose peace,  joy, and freedom.

Naomi or Mara?

February 6, 2025
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

February 4, 2025

Sometimes the bad times seem to last forever. Everyone experiences bad days, bad times, and even bad seasons. Sometimes it seems as though no one, not even God is listening. This period of time could be four days fours, ten years or more. It may not seem like it at the time of the trauma God but is listening.

The story of Naomi in the Bible has empowering lessons for us to learn. Hers is a story of loss and grief as well as grace and victory and restoration. You can find her in the Book of Ruth.

Naomi is a common Jewish name of Hebrew origin that can be found in the Old Testament. Naomi is Ruth’s mother-in-law in the Old Testament, and the name is considered symbolic. The name also means “pleasant one,” “above all,” and “beauty.”

The Story is set at some stressful and dark times. There was no king so the judges were active. There was no strong leadership whether political or spiritual. Everyone did what they wanted. And then on top of that, a famine hit.

This is how Naomi and her husband, Elimelech ended up moving from Bethlehem to Moab, which was a pagan country.

They had two sons: Malon and Chillion. The family stayed in Moab for more than 10 years.

Those years were filled with sorrow. First, Elimelech then Malon and Chillion died.

While the family tried to make life in Moab, Naomi’s husband and two sons died. She became a desolate widow in a land of pagan strangers.  She was broken and in alot of emotional pain. She had no covering

Naomi was left with two daughters in law who she implored to return to their people in Moab. One daughter in law returned, the other Ruth stayed with Naomi and adopted Naomi’s God.

Life was so bad for Naomi she changed her name.

But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. Ruth 1: 20

Naomi and Ruth experienced redemption and a new family with and through Boaz.  Naomi Ruth and Boaz honored God and obedient to God. God honored that in such a way by having Ruth and Boaz in the line of the Redeemer Jesus.

No matter how bad the circumstances there’s hope.

As Jamie tells it:

“For six and a half years, I endured extreme emotional, mental, physical, and even financial abuse at the hands of my ex-partner. I was completely isolated, broken, and defeated. It wasn’t only my life that was in jeopardy, but also that of my daughter. She depended on me for her safety, happiness, and security. So, I became a master at masking the hell I was living in and created a double life. I concealed my pain with a brave face as if everything was perfectly fine. But the truth was, I was suffering immensely. And as my pretend world began to crumble, I did too.

I was afraid to tell anyone what was happening in my home – afraid that no one would believe me, especially since we both had high profile roles in the Martial Arts Community. With my family in another state and no friends, I was alone, without anyone to turn to.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I was being shaped and molded into a powerful force. I went from being homeless, broken, insecure, and defeated; to a driven and confident advocate, coach, speaker, and influencer.”(1)

God is working on each one of us through circumstances and pain for His greater purpose.  No matter what keep looking up!

Quest For Peace

January 2, 2025
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

January 1, 2025

We are concluding what could be the worst four years in modern history two world views tearing at each other. We know good trumps over evil at times t seems as though evil is winning.

The recent bombings which have plagued other parts of the globe seemed to have been let into the USA with one report that over 1,000 Terrorist are in the country now. One goal of these terrorist, just like any other bully, is to instill fear, keep you anxious and rule over you by fear. Don’t let them have it, stand up against them.

Just as God showed His Hand of protection and presents in Butler PA He is not yet done with the USA.

The hurricane victims who were denied even basic assistance by the government in DC they were helped by individuals and organizations such as Samaritans Purse.

Just like God is not yet done with the USA, He is not done with you.

“As Hurricane Laura raged through the Gulf of Mexico toward the US coastline of Louisiana, the warnings were dire. One sheriff, noting the 150-mile-per-hour winds, issued this jolting message: “Please evacuate. But if you choose to stay and we can’t get to you, write your name, address, social security number, and next of kin and put it in a Ziploc bag in your pocket. Praying that it does not come to this.” Rescue crews knew that once Laura hit land, they could only watch the storm’s destructive path—helpless in its wake.

Whenever God’s people in the Old Testament faced natural or spiritual calamity, His words were far more certain and hopeful, promising His presence despite destruction. He said that He would “look with compassion on all her ruins; [and would] make her wastelands . . . like the garden of the Lord” (Isaiah 51:3). And more, God always assured His people of the rescue and healing that would certainly follow if they would only trust Him. Even though “the heavens [would] vanish like smoke,” God said, His “salvation [would] last forever” (v. 6). Whatever the damage, His ultimate goodness toward them wouldn’t be thwarted, ever.

God doesn’t safeguard us from hardship, but He does promise that His restorative healing extends far beyond the ruin.”  (1)

The message over the centuries remains the same God is not done with His people. God Blesses people and Nations who honor Him.   “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.

Whatever your situation, whatever your need the best place to look is up.

The peace of God, “which transcends all understanding,” is the harmony and calmness of body, mind, and spirit that supersedes earthly circumstances.

“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5

The quest for peace is attainable with God are you ready?

Adoption, Belong to Something Greater Than Ourselves

December 5, 2024
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

December 3, 2024

Welcome, come in, glad to see you is a greeting we prefer as we enter. We expect it when we join a family gathering and perhaps with a group of friends. Some businesses welcome you.

You certainly would not expect a warm greeting such as that if had not showered and haven’t changed your clothes in awhile. Image feeling at your lowest, dirtiest level and receiving a warm greeting such as: “Welcome, come in, glad to see you” and perhaps receive a hug.

The world meets you with suspicion.

After an especially tough time or after a serious rejection or multiple rejections you wonder if it’s all worth it. Fear, anxiety, depression and perhaps a PTSD episode you could sure use a “Welcome, come in, glad to see you” and perhaps receive a hug.

Imagine if you will young children suddenly, through no fault of their own; find themselves without parents, other family members and/or without a home. They could sure use a “Welcome, come in, glad to see you” and perhaps receive a hug.

We all need to be a part of, to belong to a family. We need a safe environment to thrive, grow and prosper, sometimes a soft place to land during or after tough time. God designed the family as the basic unit and the devil has been trying to destroy the family since the Garden of Eden.

You are never alone. Good families are available to say: “Welcome, come in, glad to see you” and perhaps give you a hug.

Two Sides Of The Same Beautiful Story:

By its very nature, adoption is God’s design. After all, as believers in Christ, we are adopted into the family of God. Whether you are a woman looking for the answer to your unexpected pregnancy, or an adoptive couple looking to grow your family, we’re here to listen, support, and help.  Once adopted you enjoy all the rights and privileges as an original member of the family.

No matter what side of the journey you are on, you are not alone. God so desires to give you, “a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” (Isaiah 61:3) You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. You are loved. (1)

We know the journey of adoption doesn’t end when the papers are signed. Being adopted impacts your life in new ways all the time, whether you’re four or 42. We recognize that during some periods of your life, you will process your story more intensely than others, and that you will probably continue to discern what it means for you throughout your whole life. We hope that through our resources you will find the trusted guidance and support you need to embrace your story and live confident in your worth, strength, and identity. (2)

Adoption what a beautiful concept; especially for those who are adopted into the family of Christ. You are not alone and not forsaken.

Halloween a Symptom of the Battle

October 31, 2024

Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

October 29, 2024

Just because everyone is doing does not make it right. Just because the crowd ahead of you jumped off the cliff, would you?

Sure it seems like fun to pretend you are something or someone else in an outfit that you would otherwise wear. You may utter odd things or threats to gain a reward.

Trick or treat has its origin knocking on doors to offer the resident a choice of either part with something acceptable to the door knocker or expect some evil to befall them.

Evil is not new on the scene you a symptom of evil can be found in rebellion in heaven. One angle decided he wanted to be like God, fomented a rebellion and was expelled from heaven. The evil angel who had direct access to God took one third of the angels with him upon expulsion.  Today many refer to them as the devil and minions.

The devil knows the words of the Bible not the real meaning as he is not filled with the Holy Spirit. The devil knows he will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. The devil loves company; his goal is to bring each soul with him.

The devil tempted Jesus as three times.

Matthew 4:1-11(NKJV)

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’

and,

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”

Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not [a]tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

10 Then Jesus said to him, [b]“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Jesus relied upon God, resisted the devil and the devil fled. (James 4:7) We have same power and authority over evil and temptation if we submit to God, resist the devil, the devil will flee.

The devil tempts each one of us often.  The question is what do we do about the temptation at that time.

Certainly if you cloth yourself and participate in the acts and garb of evil you have invited the devil and his minions in to exercise control over you. Wearing demonic costumes and participating in demonic rituals are but a symptom of evil.

We all have a choice who to follow. As for me as my house we choose to Serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15). I invite you to join us.

Jack and Jill, Different Hill

October 3, 2024
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

October 2, 2024

The power of God knows no boundaries or limits. We can’t always witness His answers to our prayers. People sometimes forget to credit or Praise God for His answers.

Jill fell ill with a serious and often deadly condition. Jack and Jill prayed often together. Jill required a serious operation that is not uncommon to improve her condition.

James 5:14-16   NKJV

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

The operation did not go as planned, as surgeon nicked an interior blood vessel. The doctors were frantic to stop the hemorrhaging and used extraordinary measures to stop flood of blood. Jill almost died and had a nurse beside her in ICU for days.

The doctors and nurses never informed Jill’s husband Jack of her condition and refused to provide Jack with any updates of her condition. The nurses threatened to call the police if Jack arrived at the hospital to see Jill.  Jack offered to make a joint call to the police, the nurses declined the offer. Jack had to get the police involved in order for Jill to get possession of her own phone.

Jesus has been healing Jill and is doing well Jack and Jill continue to pray together. The bad memory of the hospital stay still brings praise that Jesus was with Jill in the operating room, in ICU and today.

Life still has its ups and downs. Fear and anxiety rear their ugly heads from time to time. They, Submit to God, Resist the devil and the devil flees.

The devil wants people to believe the devil does not exist. The devil enjoys spreading hate and discontent. We all have a choice to fall for the devil’s lies or Praise Jesus.

Seven year old Micah Drye of Asheville, North Carolina, a hurricane victim is a hero. As he was swept away in the flood waters wasn’t screaming for his mother. He was screaming, ‘Jesus, Jesus, save me. Jesus, I hear you. Jesus, I’m calling upon you.” (1)

No matter what life brings continue to Pray for one another and Trust in Jesus for the outcome.

Through it all they trusted in Jesus

Family Over Time

September 5, 2024
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

August 3, 2024

The family as an institution has been under attack since the beginning. The family is designed as the basic unit where we can all thrive: a safe place to land during the rough times; a place to celebrate and worship together.

In a world that is constantly changing, it’s important to create and hold on to strong family values. Christian family values are rooted in the teachings of the Bible and provide a foundation for building healthy relationships, nurturing spiritual growth, and guiding moral decision-making. (1)

Genesis 2:24, describes marriage as a man leaving his parents and being united to his wife. In passages that contain instructions regarding marriage, such as 1 Corinthians 7:2–16 and Ephesians 5:23–33, the Bible clearly identifies marriage as being between a man and a woman. Biblically speaking, marriage is the lifetime union of a man and a woman, primarily for the purpose of building a family and providing a stable environment for that family.

In a Christian family, love and respect are more than mere sentiments. They are actionable attitudes that reflect Christ’s interactions with the church. Parents are encouraged to love their children as Christ loved the church, a love that is unconditional, selfless, and sacrificial. Similarly, children are urged to respect and obey their parents, acknowledging their God-given authority and wisdom. (2)

Families changed over the years however generally remained as a stable unit, withstanding the attacks of the devil…

Recovering from a wartime economy the 1950s experience a boom in marriages and family values were embraced. Front doors were unlocked until bedtime.  Neighbors looked out for neighbors. Children spent many daylight hours outdoors with friends. Should one of them do something wrong their mother was called before they arrived home for the family dinner meal. Should a foul word slip out, the Lava soup was nearby to wash that word out of your mouth. Church was a regular family activity.

The 1950s had rotary dial phones attached to the wall by wire. There was no caller ID, no texting, and no computers.  Televisions were black and white with test patterns on the screen before and after a scheduled program, no twenty four our broadcasting.  People communicated by talking and writing letters. A letter would take a few days to arrive at its destination and the reply took a few days to arrive.

A hundred years earlier a letter could take a month or more to travel one way.

Here are Seven Ways to Overcome by Cultivating Christian Family Values

Practice Unconditional Love: Show love to your family members, not based on their actions, but based on their intrinsic value as God’s creation.

Teach and Uphold Respect: Teach children the importance of respecting authority, starting with parental authority, as this is a reflection of our respect for God’s authority.

Nurture Faith: Cultivate an environment where faith is openly discussed and practiced, encouraging each family member in their personal relationship with Christ.

Promote Honesty and Transparency: Encourage open communication and honesty within the family, fostering trust and intimacy.

Instill the Value of Service: Teach children the importance of serving others, following the model of Jesus who came “not to be served, but to serve.”

Maintain Forgiveness and Grace: Promote a culture of forgiveness in the family, reflecting God’s forgiveness towards us.

Pray Together: Make prayer a regular part of your family life, strengthening your collective reliance on God. (2)

Parents and Grandparents have a responsibility to know our real history and lead the way with family values. Parents and grandparents have a responsibility to speak up against attacks upon the family. It would be sad day to try to describe freedom in traditional family values to Great Grandchildren who knew neither. It would be equally as sad to explain why we did nothing to prevent the eradication of the traditional family.

The Strong Drive On…

August 4, 2024
Image

By Reverend Paul N. Papas II

August 4, 2024

Some run from danger, some confront it to neutralize or eradicate the danger. Danger comes in many forms; it could be a physical or spiritual danger, both of which could result in a death. A physical death ends you walking on earth. Spiritual death is your separation from God.

The devil has been perfecting propaganda before he was thrown out of Heaven and took a third of the angels with him. The devil has fine tuned his tools of  hate, discontent, fear, anxiety and a host of maladies to get you to serve the devil rather than God.  One of the devil’s accomplishments is to get people believe that God does not exist. The devil knows his time is close to end up in the lake of fire and wants to take as many souls with as he can, don’t be one of them. The devil engages in spiritual warfare for each soul.

Ephesians 6: 11-18

11  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15  and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

19  and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Courage is not the absence of fear; rather it is acting in spite of fear. Some run at the first sign of danger.

Firefighters run into a burning building to knock down a fire and to save lives.

The US Military in which I served was often in harms way trying to neutralize or eradicate the enemy in some far off land keeping them from entering in or attacking the USA homeland. Today’s military brass is more worried pronouns and the like. For a few years now we let them just walk into our country and give them free stuff.

Some people can’t win an argument on the merits so they use the devil’s tools and spread hate and discontent causing fear and anxiety. They try to suppress communication from and with those they don’t like. If that doesn’t they go so far as trying to kill them.

George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and most recently, Donald Trump are presidents who survived the assassins’ bullets. George Washington, as I recall, did not realize he had been shot at until later. Teddy Roosevelt got up and finished his speech eighteen minutes after being shot. Ronald Reagan didn’t let on how severely he was wounded. Donald Trump famously got up, pumped his fist and told us to fight, fight, fight!.

Normally crowds scatter at the sound of gunfire. George Washington was on horseback and leading the troops in war of independence while he was shot. Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump had crowds around them and the crowds did not run at the sound of gunfire. Volumes have been written about each of them.

God had His plan and purpose for each of these men who survived the assassin’s bullet.

God has a plan and purpose for each one of us.

We should each keep the Full Armor of God on and follow His lead.

We can all do our part to expel all enemies; to do so you’ll to Pray without ceasing, that is remain in an attitude of prayer.

  John 4:4-6 (NKJV)

‘4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

Together we can and we must, do our part to expel all enemies.

The Strong drive on while the weak fall by the wayside.
