Dancing With the Queen

The Queen loves music. I sing and dance- everywhere all the time. No, I am not very good at either. It doesn’t matter. Royalty has perks.

During the course of my work I push a shopping cart around, up and down aisles just like in a store. In the seat of my cart is my musical device and a portable speaker.

As I walk up and down and back and forth, my music changes. It changes a lot. I prefer to put my playlists on shuffle. I can go from Christmas music to opera to worship to Broadway. It keeps me entertained and keeps the other Booksellers guessing.

It makes my royal heart go pitter pat when a song I love comes on. A song that I am not familiar with makes me happy too. I just love it all.

Today’s rule is that there shall be music playing whenever the Queen is about..

Today I made myself laugh!

By the time I did what needed doing this morning, it was too hot for Your Royal Highness to walk outdoors. I decided that I would do an “exercise tape”. (Yes, I know it’s not really a tape, but I am old!)

On Netflix, you can find a lot of different work out videos in their list. A lot of them are on the instant list. I added several to my list and picked one to play on the tv today.

ImageI chose a dance type workout…. compared to the girls on the tv, I felt like a dancing bear (for now!) But that’s ok….  a dancing bear is better than a sitting on the couch bear!

The Queen HATES cleaning. I don’t mind the straightening, the organizing, the putting away. I like making things look nice, inviting, welcoming, homey. It’s the cleaning part I hate. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing….. toilets, window blinds, kitchen floors…. ICK!

I think that we could solve this problem pretty easily. Now, remember, this is something that will only work when I am Queen of the World….. until then I am afraid it is a pipe dream.

So, our prison system is an overcrowded doodle squat of a mess. “Wait, did the Queen just totally change subjects in the middle of a  rule?” “No, of course not. The Queen does not make mistakes!”

Really, this is going somewhere.

There are lots of people in prison that are non-violent and not a threat to others. People who steal mail, write bad checks, talk back to their parents…. like that. These people could come to the home of law-abiding citizens and do all the dirty work. They could scrub our toilets, mop our floors and mow our lawns.

Just think about it. They could live in half way houses and be guarded day and night. This would also create jobs for the guards- bonus! The prisons would be less crowded and our baseboards would be clean!

So, as I see it, this is truly a win win situation.

ImageMind you, this would not refer to murderers and rapists. Their rule will come later when I think you are ready for my real truths.

Rule #21- The Queen and her loyal subjects shall never have to do their own dirty work again.

It happened again. I can’t even begin to count how many times it has happened. I mixed up the shampoo and conditioner again. Arrrggghhh!

Ok, I know it doesn’t sound like much, especially to my male friends, but it makes me crazy!

I know why it happens. The bottles look exactly alike. I, like a lot of people, cannot read much without my contacts. I need much more obvious visual cues than just the writing to tell the difference. Some brands are smarter and use different colored or shaped bottles- genius. I guess I am doomed to choose based on the outside of the bottle, not the inside. That sucks!

This leads to Rule #5: All shampoo and conditioner bottles (or anything else normally used when one is not wearing their contacts!) must be color coded for ease of use. Dirty hair is not an option!
