Finally free of studio interference, he chose to make a trenchant satire of televangelists and religion, only to see it savaged critically and his five-picture studio deal terminated. Seldom revived or televised, it’s a ripe candidate for rediscovery.

Alan Spencer is best known for creating the classic satirical eighties sitcom Sledge Hammer! and the recent controversial "ultra violent" comedy Bullet in the Face for IFC. For years he's been regarded as one of Hollywood's top script doctors and has never lost a patient.
While filming Yellowbeard in Mexico, Feldman suffered a heart attack, and Mexico City’s horrific traffic prevented the ambulance from getting to him in time. The movie got dedicated to his memory.
