Life with Liam

We have been in heaven with this little boy!  I just can't imagine life without him.  He is still not sleeping at all at night but we have no complaints!  He smiles a lot now when he sleeps.  I love staring at him while he is dreaming and just waiting for him to crack a smile.
Image
I love watching Lauren with him too.  So far there are NO jealous issues.  She just wants to hold him all the time.  She even rocked him to sleep last night while I read the scriptures to them.  It was a sweet moment for me.

 Here he is praying.  :-)

 He's just so content!

This is my all time FAVORITE pose.  The sleeves up over his hands, his binky in his mouth, and his hands by his head.  My FAVORITE!

This is his birth father's face.  It's so funny!

We were worried about Liam's bilirubin levels so Brian put his swing in the window so he could soak up some rays.  We took him in later that day and he was cleared.

I love Liam so much already.  But the things that make my day are seeing Brian and Lauren with him.  Brian is in heaven with a little boy!  He just carries his buddy around all over.  I have to fight to hold him.  Lauren also wants to hold him all the time too.  She loves to kiss him and asks to kiss him all the time.

It was REALLY hard today when Brian went back to work.  We were all kind of lost without him.  We are SUPER grateful that he has a job but it has been so nice to have him home.  Everyone kept asking me if I was ready for him to go back to work or if he was ready to go back.  Neither one of was happy.  We really like each other and like to be together.  I don't understand how people don't get that.  Luckily we get the weekend together and then he just goes back 3 days.

Lauren Reading

Lauren's kindergarten teacher gave her a take home reading book.  She brought it home and read it right away.  We are so proud of her.  She still isn't even 5 yet.  She is a little smartie!

First Bath

Liam had his first bath at home.  He does NOT like them.  He doesn't like to be changed either!  He gets very mad and he makes it know!  He also does not like to spread out.  He always has his legs curled up so it's hard to put diapers back on him.

Visitors

Sunday morning we woke up to this cute face in our room. Talk about heaven.
Image
Brian took Lauren to church because it was the primary program.  She did a great job and got her line right.  I stayed home with Liam.  The moment Lauren got home from church she wanted to hold her little brother.

Then around 1:00 Nancy and her family came over.  At around 2:00 Shad and his mom came over.  Shad is the birth father.  (I finally got permission to put his name and picture up on here).  He is a SWEET kid!  We feel blessed to have them.  After Brittany and Lloyd (Lauren's birthparents) we were worried if we could love another set of birth parents as much as we love them.  We totally scored with both Nancy and Shad.  They are super super sweet!  Shad is a little bit more quiet but I think it's just because we don't know him yet.  We are hopeful that he will open up to us.  We are still defining our openness with him but I think it is coming along (which we are grateful for).  We have always been worried about having one set of birth parents that were around and then having another set that was not and having to explain to our child why they are not around.  We would love to have the adoptions similar.

This picture is awesome because it shows all 3 of them.  I love that Shad and Nancy are smiling.  They are sweet together.  We love that they are still friends.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Nancy and Liam.

This little girl loves her brother.  Can you tell??

They left around 4:15 and then the visitors started pouring in for the evening.  First Janie came.

Then Corey and Chris and their boys.

Corey has been there for me through my infertility struggles so she has been praying for Liam for years.  Can you tell that she is excited?

Kellie and Philip also came over.
Then Joely and Lizzy came over.  They left the kiddo's home.  They approve.

First Doctor's appointment

I am so bummed that I didn't get a picture for Liam's first doctor's appointment.  Some of the staff were talking to me about adoption and I got side tracked.

He weighed in at 7 pounds 8 oz.  He is in the 58th percentile for his weight.
He also grew!  He measured in at 21 inches.  He is in the 94th percentile for height.
His head measured in at 13.75 inches.  He is in the 55th percentile.

I am hoping that I will be taller than Liam until he is at least 9.  That's my goal.

Our doctor is AMAZING!!  We love him!  Best doctor that I have found here in Utah.  I have not found a person that doesn't totally love him.

Shower

My baby shower was Saturday morning.  When we first met Nancy on September 21st she told us that Liam would be born in about 3 weeks.  We all thought that he was going to come before his due date on the 9th so we thought that we would have no problems to have the shower on the 10th.  Boy were we wrong.  I was so excited about the shower.  My family spent so much time on it and I was excited for yummy food and to see my friends.  Little did I know that I would have had NO sleep in a few days and that I would be so emotionally, physically, and spiritually drained.  I put on a smile and I made it through the day.

First I said goodbye to my Grandma as she headed out to Colorado.  My dad was walking by as we were taking pictures and jumped in one of them.  I think this is one of my favorite pictures!  I love his face!

My mom, Corey, and Kellie did a great job on all of the decorations!

Everything looked so great!  Corey made the Liam banner and the diaper cake.

 Isn't this so cute?

I got so many gifts.  I have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of others!  Completely overwhelmed!!
