Halloween Time!

We had a great time at Halloween! We had a Pretty Butterfly, Darth Vader, and Snoopy join us this year! With our Ward Trunk-or-Treat combined with trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood, our kids scored big time! Also, we had bought a bunch of candy to pass out this year because previous years we had lots of kids come to our house. This year, for some reason, we only had about 20-30 kids come. Oh well. Chris and I are enjoying those leftovers! :) Happy Halloween everyone.

Snoopy, aka Porter. He wants us to name our baby Porter and he can just be called Snoopy from now on. He LOVES Snoopy, thanks to Uncle Sam introducing him to Porter. He has a stuffed Snoopy...sleeps with it and carries it everywhere. However, about 3 weeks ago, we can't find it anywhere! We have looked everywhere! We may just have to replace it for a special 3-year birthday coming up!

Porter Potty-trained

Image A couple weeks ago, Porter one day looked like he needed to go #2, so I took him. He didn't want to go, but heard Daddy coming home. Daddy went in the bathroom with him and Porter, of course, went. From then on, Porter has been potty-trained! He has had no accidents and even stays dry at naptimes and nighttime. We are so lucky! He just potty-trained himself basically. It helps having older siblings that he wants to be just like! We just waited till he was ready. It is so nice not having to buy diapers (at least for a couple more months) and not go through wipes so fast. I'm loving this diaper free house right now! Way to go Big Boy Porter!

Visit with the Dennis'

We got to visit with the Dennis' for a couple days as well when we went to Utah.

Here we are eating homemade smores...

Caught you Grandpa! Nice, Megan!

When we went to the mall for a movie (Cars 2) and dinner (Wingers, yum! Wish they had that here in Vegas), Porter got to ride a choo-choo train around with Grandma. Peyton and Kylie got to do this trampoline jumping thing. They loved it and got real high in the air!

We also got to do one of our favorite activites...swim! The kids, thanks to Chris, hung on to the basketball hoop to see who could hang on the longest. Peyton won with a record time of 77 seconds. :)

Porter got to hang out with his best buddy, Duke. He loves this dog!

Porter did do quite a scare for us. We were all right by the pool putting sunscreen on the kids. All of a sudden I hear a splash! I look and Porter is in the deep end. Honestly, I think I stared for a couple seconds wondering if he had his floaties on or not. It kind of looked like he did because he was flapping his arms and kicking his legs. I realized he didn't and had to jump in after him. It still makes me sick to my stomach! That kid can scare me sometimes!

Visit with the Nelson's

I am going to try to update this blog with a few things that have been happening since June.

  • Visit to Utah with the Nelson's

  • Visit to Utah with the Dennis'

  • Trip to California

  • Porter got potty-trained

So, I'll start with the 1st one...visit to Utah with the Nelson's. It was great to visit with all my siblings and their families, minus one...Mike and family, we missed you! We had lots of cousins to play with, lots of fun, lots to do!

I love to document my trips with pictures, so here you go. I know, I know. Picture overload! But this is how I am able to show my family my photos. I promise all my posts won't be this long. Sorry!

Here are my Mom and Dad with most of the grandkids...

Trip to Hollywood Connection---We never get to mini golf, ride rides, skate, and stuff like that in Vegas, so my kids were real excited to go here! They LOVED getting to ride the rides by themself. Their favorite was the dragon roller coaster!

Me, acting like an idiot trying to use Porter's golf club. The kids mini golfing...not exactly the grip Chris was hoping for. ;)

Skating--the kids had never skated before.

Trip to Hogle Zoo--once again, don't really have a zoo here in Vegas, so it was a real treat for us!

Porter and me were the only ones who wanted to touch the snake. I'm sure Chris would have, too, but he was taking the picture.

Gotta stop off at Italian Village...memories!
