I absolutely loved Desire After Dark!!! This book had me crying one minute and then hysterically laughing just a little bit later. What an emotional journey. What a treasure!

Once again Marie Force brings you back to Gansett Island to reconnect with the McCarthy family and all their friends. It's wonderful to see and feel the love that they easily share with one another. It just draws you in! Erin and Slim's story was just wonderful. After 15 years Erin still struggles with the tragic death of her twin brother. Each day brings its own challenges in overcoming the fear that now controls Erin's life. Seeing how Slim loves her and unconditionally supports her through this journey was inspiring. It's was so nice to watch them come to the realization that they needed each other and they were in love. It was a truly touching love story.

While reading about Erin and Slim's love story, Marie Force lets the reader catch up with some of the characters from previous books. Marie is so talented at weaving in her other characters that you always feel excited about seeing what they're all up to. You feel like you're reconnecting with old friends and family. Watching the McCarthy's tease each other is often hysterically heartwarming. Their relationships with each other are always filled with love and unending support. I loved the scenes where they joke around with each other. Little Thomas' innocent comments were too precious. I couldn't stop laughing!

Once again Marie wrote a wonderful, emotional love story that not only entertained me but also touched my heart. As always this story was over too soon but I truly enjoyed my visit to Gansett Island. I can't wait for the next story to take me back! Thank you Marie for sharing your talent with your fans. Congratulations on your 50th book! Can't wait for your next book Fatal Identity that's coming out in July! It's time to reconnect with Sam and Nick!

I truly adore this series! Marie Force's brilliant writing makes every reader feel like these characters are truly the reader's friends rather than characters in a book. I am always excited to go back to the island and find out what everyone has been up to. This author is superb at creating an entire new book while blending previous book's characters into the story-line. I LOVE that! One of my very favorite things in series is finding out new stuff about characters from previous books. I've read some of the reviews that have been posted here on Amazon for Desire After Dark, and am a little confused why anyone would start a series at book 15. Maybe I'm just too anal when it comes to series, but if I find a new series, then I always search for the first book. I don't want to miss anything and a series like this which has 15 books in it and is so damn good, there's no way I wouldn't start at the beginning. To me, that's the reason you read series...because they are interconnected.

Erin and Slim's story is so heartfelt. Erin has to overcome a tremendous loss and Slim is the absolute best Prince Charming to help her do it. Desire After Dark has it all...hilarious parts, snarky lines, smoking hot love and Kleenex grabbing moments. LOVED it!

To all the Gansett Island fans...grab your copy now, although...I'm sure you already have; (note the semicolon, lol) to new Marie Force Readers...I recommend starting at book 1, Maid for Love (which is FREE) then immerse yourself into the love that is Gansett.

And there they were, the final words that came too quickly, but oh so sweetly. Fans and readers of Marie's sweet island were left with another stack of beautifully memories that leave them anxious for more - more family moments with the characters she's brought to us thru Mac and Maddie's first accidental encounter. Dang I didn't want those pages to run out. As I was reading through those last chapters I realized how many authors have begun to shorten the pages in their books to less that 300 pages and in those less than 300 pages they offer far less than what Marie's books give us. There's a comfort in delving into the books Marie Force pens. The reader can feel - truly feel the passion that flows from Marie's creative mind through her heart and out the tips of her fingers. Characters live in her pages and share the passion so effortlessly leaving the reader with laughter and tears and satisfaction, but an ever present need to go back for more - more re-reads, more release days, more Marie magic. Another wonderful accomplishment in her long list of accomplishments - truly . I'm glad I have all her books to go back for re-reads - for more Gansett and her people - waiting for more release days.

Slim and Erin’s journey is the couple dujour in Desire after Dark (Gansett Island Book 15) by Marie Force. Slim has slowly been coming around to the idea that he has found the one woman he could see himself with long term. Erin on the other hand is still a mess after the loss of her twin brother on 9/11. As I read about Slim and Erin as individuals, it becomes apparent that these two are perfect for one another once you get past the surface.

Holy cow, if Erin doesn’t deserve some happiness! Lost in her grief and left to her own devices too long, Slim comes into her life and shakes things up a bit. His persistence gives her the opportunity to see what happiness could be like and I absolutely love how these characters are developed as well as how their friendship blooms into love.

Surrounded by the love of the Gansett Ilsand Community, Erin and Slim take a chance on love, allowing Erin the chance at happiness as well as finding some healing along the way.

Overall, the magic of this Island is absolutely palpable as it works it’s healing magic for yet another character in need. Along with peeks into beloved character’s continued HEAs, Erin and Slim also find their as well. A truly wonderful read of this series and one not to be missed.

I still feel all giddy after reaching the end of Desire After Dark. Of course, I always seem to feel relaxed and happy after finishing each book in the series. I really want to be a member of the McCarthy family.

What I like best about this series is that no one seems to be forgotten from book to book. Past main characters decorate the book with update chapters, now times activity. The stories are believable. I can't tell you how many times I have identified with a character or situation. Nothing seems to be to extreme, to out there.

Desire After Dark gives Erin, Jenny's would have been sister-in-law, permission to find happiness. The light from the lighthouse she mans will guide her out of the darkness just as it had Jenny.

Slim is a good guy, a great friend. Some of the things that man says left me swooning. He has watched his friends fall for love, thinking he would never have it. What he finds with Erin will blow you away.

Add in the laughs. WOW!! The book is a great addition to an already amazing series.

Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better all the time. I always look forward to taking trips back to Gansett to visit with all the people who have become like old friends and family, to me. I just don't read these books; I become so immersed in them to the point that everything and everyone around me completely disappears. I lose all sense of time, which has caused me many sleepless nights, and a lot of missed meals. LOL! Sad, but oh so true.

IMO- Slim acted like a total Prince Charming in this story. He knew just when to turn on the romance, but also when to throw in a funny line or two to lighten the mood, when things got to tough for Erin to handle. He was so intune with her every move, it was like he could see right into her head and know exactly what she was thinking and feeling, at any given moment. He stuck with her through both the good times, and the bad. And I was so happy that he was with her when she had needed him the most. That right there proved to me just how good of a man he was. He not only took over and did what he could to make things easier for her, but her also stuck by her side through it all. He made me drool more than once, that's for sure.

Erin was so sweet, but she had been living her life in limbo for far too long, and all because she was so afraid of getting herself hurt again. The scene at Jenny's house tore my heart out and made me bawl like a big baby. I wanted to reach out and hug Erin so badly; assure her that everything would be fine. But I didn't have to, because thankfully, she had her good friend and Slim to do it for me. Her move to Gansett was probably the best thing she'd ever done. She'd made she really good friends, her made it impossible for her to hide herself away like she'd been doing for years. Then along came Slim who made her feel like she could do anything, as long as she would just believe in herself.

I was pulling for these two all the way....... And while I thoroughly enjoyed their story, I was so, so glad we got to re-visit with a lot of our other favorites from past books, too. What I like best about this series is that no one seems to be forgotten from book to book. Past main characters decorate the book with updated chapters of their live now.

There are only about six or seven series by my all time favorite authors that I follow religiously. Like Marie Force; some of these authors have several series, some completed, and some still in progress. Series that have touched my heart so deeply that I tend to read over and over again, and this just happens to be one of those series I will always cherish with all my heart.

I have read this whole series so many times now, that I've actually I've lost count. I have the whole series up to this point; and whenever I start to feel down out I reach for these books as a pick me up. They always seem to do the trick for me. I feel myself relaxing and even smiling more...even for no reason at all..

My all time favorite couple in this series will always be Mac & Maddie. I think it's mainly because they were the ouple that started this series off with a bang. But also because you can always count on them to make everyone laugh. The two of them can also be a force to reckon'd with when they are together, but they are even outrageous & hysterical when they start plotting their revenges against the oposite sex. They sure made me laugh in this book, that's for sure! And the kids antic's on Christmas day at Big Mac & Linda's house, had me laughing so hard I almost pee'd my pants. I could picture that whole scene playing out so clearly in my head. And the way the McCarthy siblings carried on made me laugh even harder. Tiffany is always a hoot, and if Blaine thinks he has his hands full now....just wait until that little one becomes a teenager! Ha!

I have no clue who the next book will be about, but I have no doubt it'll be just as good as the ones we've already read. Selfishly; I just hope this series never ends!!!

And lastly....I would like to Congradulate Marie Force on publishing her 50th. book. That's a feat in it own, but doing it within the short time-span she did it in, to me at least, is even more amazing. CHEERS TO YOU MARIE FORCE! Now onward to the next 50!!!

Marie Force continues to show her brilliance as an author in Desire After Dark. It is a fantastic adddition to her Gansette Series. It definitely should be read as a part of her series, as it continues her past storylines yet creates new possibilities for more to come in the future. I would highly recommend the entire series, so that you can fall in love with these amazing characters as I have. Each story is filled with love, laughter, sizzling chemistry and unforgettable characters. Marie is a true genius with her ability to create fresh storylines and memorable tales. I could not get enough of this amazing series!

Wow!!! Always love going back to Gansett island, love all the growing families n you can't beat the McCarthy's there the heart and soul of the island. Slim is just adorable with Erin, she's lost her brother, her twin that must feel extremely hollow for a surviving twin. Erin learns to live again, she flys to her father with slim, she falls head over heels for him. Engaged now, loving all this little parts from everyone else's life. Maddie Mac pregnant again, Sydney pregnant again, Laura about to give birth, Janey pregnant again, Jenny pregnant but most of all I loved the weddings, Marie has a beautiful way to show love happiness. Mac McCarthy though is hilarious, his beach stunt was brilliant, loved it all but the Owen part with his father, his abuse touched me deep, I cried loads. Fantastic series from a amazing talented author..
