Le Refuge Solidaire is a center for people on the move in Briancon, France. They are starting a crowdfunding to fund the refuge’s kitchen, which welcomes exiled people coming over the franco-italian border. Offering a warm welcome in times where fascism is on the rise is extremely important for our communities. Hot meals are an essential part of this and their spring fundraiser’s objective is to raise 20 000euros which should fund the kitchen for 4months and allow to serve around 27 000 meals to exiled people in need.
Let’s help support this great initiative! […Lees verder]

Cineforum, documentary “Raìzes Sem Terra” and discussion with director Francesco Ballarini and producer Francesco Saretto

Wednesday May 6, 2026, 20:00, Cineforum : “Raìzes Sem Terra” directed by Francesco Ballarini, 2026, 45 minutes, in Brazilian with English subtitles. Door opens at 19:00, movie and presentation start at 20:30, followed by a discussion with director Francesco Ballarini and producer Francesco Saretto.

ImageIn Brazil, the richest 1% owns more than half of the land. The Brazilian agrarian reform, enshrined in the 1988 Constitution, aims to redistribute unproductive land from large landowners (fazendeiros) to landless families. But this process is fiercely opposed by the elites, who see land ownership as a status symbol. So the claim for land becomes a long, often violent fight: many families live for years, sometimes decades, in makeshift camps, in plastic tents, subject to threats and aggression, until their rights are finally recognized.
Raízes Sem Terra collects the stories of Bahian landless families — their hopes, struggles, fights, and desires. Here, in the semiarid sertão, social injustice is inseparable from climatic and environmental injustice: owning land means nothing without water to cultivate. Rain falls only a few weeks each year, with climate change exacerbating this dryiness, and only the wealthy can afford to drill wells.
A choral documentary where many lives intertwine to tell one larger story: of resistance, injustice, fight and hope.

Chaos Kitchen Voku for Former Belarusian Political Prisoners

Thursday April 30, 2026, Chaos Kitchen Voku for Former Belarusian Political Prisoners. Food served from 7pm, no reservation.

ImageSince the mass resistance to the illegitimate 2020 elections in Belarus, at least 4,594 people have been recognised as political prisoners. The arrests are still happening, and with the Russian occupation of Ukraine and Belarus’ involvement in the war continuing, we can expect more people detained for their anti-war positions.

Recently though, since December 2025, as part of a deal with the US for lifting sanctions, several hundred political prisoners were released. Some of them were released to neighbouring countries, Lithuania and Ukraine, without the possibility of coming back to Belarus. Urgent help is therefore needed for those brought into exile, as well as those who stayed in Belarus following their release.

While the sentiment behind the release deals is for sure questionable, and it is worrying that the release of a few hundred people may conceal the continuing force of repression, pushing for the freedom of all political prisoners stays a necessity, and so does supporting those who have been released.

To stand in solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners, Chaos Kitchen is raising money for Volnyja that supports those who recently regained their freedom. Donations will go towards clothing, foreign insurance, housing, medical needs, and psychological support for former political prisoners seeking help from Volnyja. […Lees verder]

Book Club & Zine Share

Sunday April 26, 2026, School Without Masters, Book Club & Zine Share.

Join School Without Masters for our first Book Club & Zine Share session! We start at 18:00, the doors open at 17:30.
Today will be our first of three book club sessions: 26 April, 24 May and 21 June. In this first session we will decide together what book we want to read and figure out how to make sure everyone has access to a (digital) copy of that book if they want to read it. Perhaps an anarchist book or political fiction. Everyone is welcome to join, even if you won’t read the book. After all this session is also a zine share, where we can share our zine collections and read each other’s (not take them though unless someone says you can have their copy).
Bring your zines, your book suggestions, or just yourself!
School Without Masters is an anarchist initiative to learn horizontally. None of us are the teachers or experts, we are all teaching each other.
