Week 23

This was a crazy week to say the least! Unfortunately, we received one of those crazy, middle of night phone calls that no one ever wants to get, from my mom letting me know that my Dad had a heart attack and was in ICU. Tyler and I took the first flight out and got to Bartlesville just in time for him to transfer out of ICU and into a regular hospital room. He is recovering very well and had no heart damage. The Dr said they inserted a stint and that he should be back to his normal self in the next few weeks. He was released to go home so Tyler and I stayed a few more days at MeMe's house with them before coming back. I'm not going to lie, I am pretty sure that she enjoyed being the only grandchild in the house and getting all of the attention. I am so relieved that my dad is doing well and couldn't imagine it any other way. It was very scary for awhile and I pray that we don't have to worry about anything like that for a very long time. Josh took care of Mason while I was gone and I think he was kind of excited to go back to work when I got home ha ha. He did a great job of playing Mr Mom and even got him to school. Hopefully this next week will be much less eventful.

Week 22

Well we are back to reality and everyday life again! I must admit it was really nice to come home a little early and have 3 days at home before Josh had to get back to work. We were able to get the house picked up and put Christmas away and just relax before having to jump back into work. Mason went back to school and was so excited about going (and that makes be so happy!). The weather has been really nice in the afternoons so we've been enjoying some time outside. Tyler turned 5 months this week. It seems crazy, she's getting so big, so fast. She's pushing up with her arms, but hasn't figured out how to get her bottom up yet. She's also starting sit (tripod) for short amount of times. We started solid foods this week and she's really liking that! She opens her mouth like a little bird in between bites, its so funny. However, we've been battling her waking her up in the middle of the night and that is totally new territory for us! I was hoping that when we came home and got on a regular schedule that it would stop, but so far not so luck. She's also been a lot fussier then usual and has had a running nose off and on, so I decided to take her to the Dr. They said she has small virus, but it should be fine in a few days. I really hope so because I am not a wake up at night kind of person ha ha.

Week 21

We are wrapping up our two weeks of Christmas in Hominy visiting Nana and Papa. It has been so great to be around family for the past two weeks. I'm pretty sure we got to see everyone and thats just amazing in itself! Mason loved chasing the cows and Papa built a bonfire for him one night and he thought that was just too cool. Tyler has been just hanging out and people watching. She's so nosey these days, its getting hard to feed her because she's way too interested in whats going on around her! Oh and Mason totally tricked us the other night! He went to bed and asked if he could take his "puter" with him and we said sure, after all he sleeps with a ton of toys every night. He was super quite so I figured he went to sleep. About an hour and a half later I looked at the monitor to check on him and sure enough he was still awake playing with his computer! When I went in the room and asked him what he was doing he told me "I'm being really quite!" Ha ha. I'm sure this is the first of many times that we will catch him trying to sneak around and stay up late. This has been a great trip!

Week 20

Merry Christmas! We are in Oklahoma and loving being with family. Its crazy how much I miss our family and how much Mason and Tyler love hanging out with everyone. We've been to the aquarium, gymnastics (everyday!), friends houses, and driving around looking at Christmas lights. We've also been crocodile hunting at MeMe's house, as well as playing with baby Sam and Kc and Alison. Christmas was such a success. We had our traditional breakfast for dinner on Christmas eve, left Santa cookies, and put food in the front yard for the reindeer. Its so fun making and keeping traditions. Mason was so into all of them and I know that Tyler will be too. Mason loved all of his presents and I mean ALL of them. I swear the kid played with everything! Tyler loved her Sophie giraffe (she better! ha ha) and all of her clothes. One of her other favorites is a giant diamond ring thats a rattle, a true girly girl! I have about a million pictures so Im just going to let them tell the stories this week.
