A New Year
Wow! A lot has changed since my last blog...first off, I quit trying to pursue my LifeVantage business. It was so stressful to try and force myself to make calls and every person I met I was constantly thinking about how I could approach them about the business. I wasn't happy. So I made the decision to not do it, unless the opportunity just presented itself, like someone was going through some illness that I thought Protandim could help with and I would offer it and if the answer was no then fine. And if customers wanted to quit I wouldn't try to change their minds. And I will tell you the peace that came over me was amazing. A great weight lifted off my shoulders. I sold my tickets to convention and now I am working to get my credit card paid off that has accrued a large debt trying to do the business.
Ok, that is the main change. Now it's thinking about New Year's resolutions but before I go there I need to talk a little about Christmas... Angela, Ben and Kylie came home for Christmas. I had asked them if they wanted to decorate the tree for old times sake and they said they would like that, so I had put up the tree, lights and garland but waited for them to put the ornaments on. And put the ornaments on they did!! They emptied the two cans of ornaments out and put on every ornament no matter how old or ugly it was but it looked beautiful! I was just perfect. And now today putting the tree away I had to smile thinking about them decorating the tree. It was a special memory. And it brought back many memories for them also as they were placing all of them on the tree.
As far as New Year's resolutions go, I have some pretty lofty ones but mainly the same as always...
1) Lose weight (yeah, that weight loss challenge that I talked about in my last blog, well, it didn't happen) So I should probably get specific, like 20 pounds by June. Ok, there it is 20# by June!!
2) Exercise at least 3 times a week, no matter what! Even if I have to go work out after a 12 hour shift I need to do that. I'm hoping for at least 5 times a week but I need attainable goals so I don't get discouraged.
3) Daily Bible and Conflict of the Ages Reading. Now that is a big commitment because doing it this morning took an hour, not counting my prayer time. So if you miss one day it would take a lot of catching up to do.
4) Journaling through the Psalms. It's a new devotional book I got from one of my Bible study friends. I decided I would do this in the evening, so I can evaluate my day and make plans for the next.
5) I would like to do another 40 days of Prayer with a group or maybe with Amy and Mom again. Oh yah, that was another thing I did since my last post. It instilled in me the necessity of inviting the Holy Spirit into my life daily and how to pray for others and the power of prayer. It was powerful and I really looked forward to our daily calls together. That 40 days went by so fast and we never missed a call together!
Already today I haven't stuck to my plan for the day. I was going to do a liquid fast since I have eaten so badly the last week! Sooo many sweets! But I already gave in to eating some cranberry and feta cheese pinwheels I made for last night. Oh well, it is still the holidays. Tomorrow is another day!
I would like to say I will blog more often because I really love reading my old blogs and remembering what I was doing in my life and how things have changed or remained the same. Ben and Kylie gave us some wooden tokens for geocaching with our caching name "ctwrangler" and a jeep grill logo on it so we can leave them in the caches we find. It was such a thoughtful gift! look forward to doing more geocaching this year! And Angela gave me a beautiful green tie-dyed silk scarf that is so soft and warm. I look forward to wearing it! And I can wear it year round because it's so lightweight. I look forward to more exciting travels and getting to more national parks. Which by the way, Curt gave me a lifetime pass to the national parks!! It pays to get old ;)
Here's to a wonderful new year with new adventures and challenges!!
