Compass Community Services
Because everyone needs a little help now and then
Since our inception in 1964, Compass Community Services has been a trusted provider of social services across Wellington County, Ontario. With offices in Guelph and Fergus, we support individuals and families through developmental services, gender-based violence programs, telephone support, and psychotherapy offered in person, over the phone, and via video. Today, we proudly collaborate with local partners and extend our telephone support services to people across Canada. Guided by our mission to provide responsive, professional care that strengthens individual and community wellbeing, we’re dedicated to building a resilient, supported community for all.
Is Compass Right for You?
Therapy

Compass Community Services offers standard therapy services for individuals, couples and family therapy, children's therapy, and specialty programs for domestic abuse survivors. We also offer court ordered programming for Partner Assault Response. Child Witness is available by self-referral or by service. Aside from our phone services and free Single Session Therapy programs, standard therapy is not free.
Developmental Services

Compass provides service coordination for people of all ages with a developmental diagnosis or Autism Spectrum disorder, as well as confirms eligibility for children’s ministry funded developmental services across Wellington County through Access Information and Referral. For children and youth there is also a DS family consultant available to support those experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Workplace EAP

Compass Community Services provides a Workplace Employee Assistance Program for Employers to offer to their staff. Once in the program, employees can book therapy sessions directly at the Compass location closest to them. We also offer employers a large selection of wellness talks, workshops and training in addition to termination support and critical incident support.
Phone Services

Our dedicated volunteers are trained to offer support on our local TeleConnect, Distress Line and Seniors Offering Support line. These lines are dedicated to supporting vulnerable people in our community. We also have specially trained staff who operate on the national 988 suicide hotline.
Internships, Clinical Supervision and Training
Compass Community Services is proud to be a workplace that offers internships to students enrolled at participating post-secondary schools. We also can be a teacher, coach, consultant, and mentor for clinical supervision requirements. Additionally, our team now offers training for the ASIST program that trains in suicide prevention techniques.
