www.thinkgeek.com is a website full of all sorts of geeky stuff, from zombie brain foods to Mario wallpaper. I buy allot of stuff off this site, and half of it was necessary. I got geeky stuff from star trek pizza cutter, star wars bath robe, RC air soft tank, samurai umbrellas, ceramic salt and pepper grenades, and even my super tiny usb drive i mentioned earlier.
every week you will find new stuff on this site, it's just great, plus i love just checking things out making a wish list and if some friends wana split on shipping we will get something on occasion. Only down side is some things can get pricy and the shippings a pain (from Canada). But the selection is cool, it's nice to get useful stuff or unique inventions off the site, or maybe i just need a new blank and find a geeky version of it to replace with..
1,000 Cool Things
Each day i will post things that i believe are interesting enough to be considered cool. Some you may or may not agree with others may seem like im advertising stuff but really there things i own or experienced with or seen on tv or read about and are all really cool. Not so much experiences but rather things in life, from the toaster in your kitchen to the space shuttle, but maybe not in that order. Il try to order it from most least cool to most cool but i give no promises.

#992 - Dungeons & Dragons
Dungeons & dragons the table top game, although i haven't actually played it specifically myself, i have played variations of it such as land of dankness and pathfinder. Both similar but have there own system to it. Very fun game but to get it to that awesome state you really need to get immersed in the game, having a good game master to run the game is a key component, you should really start with someone experienced.
Check out online to see if there are local places that play it, i stop in at a comic book store on my way home from work to play it with a group of people. It's allot of fun the gm even brings in some figurine's and a full map. Plus it's allot cheaper to get into then say warhammer 40k
Read through this to have a good laugh about people trying to change the game, it's so stupid.

#993 - YouTube
YouTube, well it is usually self explanatory, but how about YouTube throughout the years. Because lately it's turned into a business of advertisement where as in the beginning it was instant video streaming but at least now it has tons of content. Don't get me wrong it's still cool it's like having your own channel of TV at will if you know what i mean.
The videos are quite random but it helps you get a visual on what your looking for. YouTube helps us publicise what awesome videos we record and it's the very tool that makes things go viral, and viral pays.
I rarely post my own videos to it but i do use it on a daily basis or every other day or so. I look up movie trailers or find video clips related to news articles or check out cool science experiments. But don't forget the funny videos out there, some are great but most of them are really people just bit by the fame bug and just wanna be famous.

#994 - Video Games
Video games are great, they help you immerse into a world of fantasy and kill some time or virtual things. Pick your world and jump into it, weather that be shooters, driving, flying, or extreme sports, just play till you cant play no more. The idea behind video games is to make anything available, consequences harmful and fun to interact with while escaping reality. The more realistic the experience the better, graphics or quality of the visuals is only half of the experience but one of the most important. Game play is second. You need a world you can relate to and the more realistic that world the better, and if you cant move around in that world then whats the point.
For me i used to play so many hours of video games and such a variety that i now hardly play any of them at all unless there really really good. Such as Crysis or Skyrim. The games I'm looking forward to playing are Prototype 2 and Diablo 3 although i think IL be playing allot more Diablo 3. I'm happy knowing that each year games look better and better. Game play is an easy thing to do these days it's making them look realistic like Crysis that's tricky with the world of gamers lacking the power to handle it.
I find myself going back to computer games now, what we need is to see the next gen consoles to come out soon, and have those consoles be 20x more powerful then there previous gen.
EDIT: To think i just read an article about dreaming and video games have some link with your dreams.. Playing video games can actually help you control what you dream about..
Here's an exert from that article:
("If you're interested in lucid dreaming, you may want to take up video gaming. The link? Both represent alternate realities, said Jayne Gackenbach, a psychologist at Grant MacEwan University in Canada.
Gamers are used to controlling their game environments, so that can translate into dreams." Her past research has shown that people who frequently play video games are more likely than non-gamers to have lucid dreams where they view themselves from outside their bodies; they were also better able to influence their dream worlds, as if controlling a video-game character.
That level of control may also help gamers turn a bloodcurdling nightmare into a carefree dream, she found in a 2008 study. This ability could help war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Gackenbach reasoned.)

#995 - Geocaching
Geocaching is a game people play with there hand held GPS device (not free), you sign up online (free) and download or look up geocaches in your area (free) and go find them out there in the world (free).. I have found over a 150 of these things so far and it's been an adventure along the way..If you check out the site there's a video ne'er the front page that best describes it.. I tell people it's like a digital treasure hunt. Some questions they ask are just stupid like why, i hate when people ask why, i just answer why not. Feel free to ask some smart questions about it in the comments if you like.
So check it out the link at the bottom and try it yourself.. There's a 10$ iPhone app that really helps in the hunt. It's a game for all ages, and don't forget to bring along a pen and some trinkets..

#996 - GPS
Global Positioning System... It doesn't get any more James bond and futuristic than that.. We can now track ourselves or other things down to the meter. How impressive is that huh. All that accuracy and it only cost us millions worth of satellites to do it. Almost every hand held device should have some form of GPS built in, it needs to be a standard. it shouldn't require 3G to get GPS, and it is so nice that it is a Free service too..
My next item on the list couldn't survive without it.

#997 - LifeProof
Yes I'm an iPhone user and this is the the coolest accessory for your iPhone, it practically makes it invincible or almost.. It is water proof, drop proof, dirt proof and snow proof. It's very cool and there are tons of information about it online, so if your an iPhone user google it or check it out.. An accessory you can't go outdoors without..
