And then there was March...

Going, going, gone! Here's to getting better with posting in April. March highlights included: meeting Thomas the Train (in Globe, AZ), visiting Amy's dairy farm (feeding Hoover the big tortoise, seeing the baby cows and driving fast on the golf cart), riding bikes in the rain (a special event because it rarely rains), seeing our doggie friends from the West Valley (a needed visit after losing Lucy), a visit from Uncle Marv and Auntie Carol from Wisconsin, going to Jameson's 1st birthday party, going out for cooking club instead of eating in (Chelsea's Kitchen is yum-o), visiting GG & Lenny in Palm Springs, Disneyland with cousin Barry, and seeing the LA zoo and Santa Monica pier while visiting Uncle Jason & Auntie Mai (in LA).

First night at Disney. Stayed until midnight.

We had a fun couple of days with cousin Barry and Miss Margaret (Ethan's nickname for Aunt Margaret). We walked about 8 miles a day (according to the pedometer), including Ethan who had no stroller. And, we closed the park most nights!

The kids meet lots of Disney characters during dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

Climbing the Lego at the Lego store in downtown Disney.

Ride Makerz ROCKS! Can't wait to check out the local store.

Ethan's working on not covering the flash when he takes pictures.

We love Mickey! Even more, we loved all of the roller coasters. We still can't believe we made the 40" limit. I'm positive the shoes and hair helped.

Where Does the Time Go?

Time slips by so quickly. So, here goes our February highlights: Transportation Day, trip to Smeeks, Charlotte's Web performance, Imagination Movers concert, trip to Palm Springs and seeing the movie Rango. Enjoy the photos and don't forget to follow us at www.facebook.com/3grahamcrackers on Facebook.

Remembering Lucy

Lucy Graham
  • Lucy was born on September 22, 1996 in Vancouver, Washington.
  • Daddy-o chose Lucy out of the Welsh Terrier puppies because she was the most friendly.
  • Lucy's name came from the Peanuts character Lucy.
  • Miss Margaret named her "Devil Dog" right off the bat.
  • Lucy spent her puppy days figuring out how to scale the dog gate. She learned quickly! So, we took it down.
  • She spent her early years traveling between California and Arizona as we were planning our wedding. Lucy really enjoyed the beach, snooping in tide pools and walking on the rocks.
  • At age 3, Lucy became very ill with Thrombocytopenia. A blood transfusion saved her life. Her bloodwork was monitored for years. She was always a strong girl. We believe the prayers and well wishes from the Welsh List had something to do with her improvement, too.
  • The vets loved her personality. She was a sweetheart who often gave kisses to all.
  • AKA Mountain Goat (for her rock climbing at the beach and on our pool), Ding Ding (for the sound her collar made, Moo Moo (just because) and Lucy Goosey (most popular). Ethan's name for her "Lucy girl" although she was often known as "my best friend."
  • Lucy spent a lot of time in the classroom with me on the weekends working (while I taught). She was always the best company.
  • Lucy loved sunning herself in the backyard, even on 100+ days!
  • Lucy loved to play hose, leaping at the water as we spayed it in the backyard. She ran after tennis balls and loved playing tug-o-war with her plush/squeaky toys.
  • Playing clam with Daddy-o was a favorite game.
  • Lucy loved riding in the car with the window down.
  • She loved our Welsh Terrier gatherings and brought so many friends into our lives via the Welsh-List.
  • She liked McDonalds hamburgers and peanut butter. She always ate on the right side of the water bowl (top dog's place) and Ethan often told her Bone Appetite.
  • She developed seizures later in life which she had from time to time. We just had to comfort her.
  • Animal Planet was a favorite show until her eyesight and hearing progressively changed.
  • Lucy died peacefully in the loving arms of her family on March 9, 2011 after a long battle with Chronic Heart Failure.

We will never forget Lucy. She will live on in our hearts forever!
