Almost done updating!
Between yesterday and today I have made 20 posts on this blog! I am almost done, only 2 months of updates left! YEAH!!!
Another Letter C
Alyssa came up with the idea that she should be on the Cactus High School Girls Golf Team, and that is what she did! She did pretty well for her first time EVER to play golf! She even golfed a par on 1 hole! She also earned a varsity letter. Way to go Alyssa, it makes me so happy that she decided she wanted to learn something new and went after it!
Marshall Ranch Cross Country
Addy and Tanner were both on the Cross Country team again this year. They both did a great job and gave it their all. We are very proud of both of them!
The Letter C
Amanda joined the Cactus High School Cross Country Team this year. I was so proud of her for sticking with it. They endured practices of 115 degrees or hotter week after week. Because we had so many "Heat Advisories" this year they would sometimes run through the hall ways of the school. Other days they would stop to cool off inside after every mile they ran. I think that running is a great sport to get into, you can do the rest of your life! Because 99% of the Cross Country team this year were sophomore's they were in the news paper for being such a young team. And, she also earned a letter for being on a varsity team! Way to go Amanda! We are so proud of you!
And We Have Another Driver!
FINALLY on September 6th Alyssa got her Drivers License! Now days you have to have a drivers permit for at least 6 months before you can get your drivers license. I told Alyssa that I wouldn't go wait in the giant long line at the DMV for her to get her drivers permit until she had read "the book". So finally after she had been 15 1/2 for 4 months she came home from school and said "I read the book today!" I said "get in the car we are going to get your permit right now!" She said, "really, it's that easy" I said "yes, I can't wait for you to drive!" So she got her permit on March 6th, and then her license on September 6th. I LOVE having another driver, it makes things so much easier!
**First Date**
Grandpa Reed set Alyssa up on her "First Date" with a really nice guy from his ward. His name is Trever and they had a great time! They went to Desert Ridge and ate at the California Pizza Kitchen, and then to a movie. She would have loved to go on another date with him but he left a few days later to go to school at BYU. Maybe he will ask her out again when he comes home for Christmas break!
First Day of School - Again!
Another year older and getting wiser too! School started on August 19th, and we were not ready for summer vacation to be over! It goes by WAY to fast! Addy is now in the 7th grade, Amanda is a sophomore, Alyssa is a junior, and Tanner is in 5th grade. It seems that once 1 of your children enters high school time speeds up. Each year is gone before I know it! I loved it when they were all little, but I love it even more now that they are all older. They are so much fun!

Amanda turns 15
Amanda Sunshine turned 15 on July 29th. She got hair extensions for her birthday! They look great! Amanda is our fashion expert and loves loves loves clothes! We are very proud of her and she brightens up our days! We are so lucky to have her in our family! We love you Amanda!
Girls Camp 2011
Justin and I got to go to Girls Camp and do the cooking again! This was our 3rd year. It was really fun being up their with all 3 of our girls! And I do have to say I think we live in the BEST ward EVER!!!
Addy, Amanda, Jade, and Makena ready for their dance to "Dancing Queen"
You're leaving the house like that?
Yes, it is true, Addy, Makena and Alyssa dressed like this and went to Walmart. They wanted to see if someone would take their picture and put it on the People of Walmart.com website. A lady actually did take their picture, but we never saw it posted!
Lake Powell 2011 Trip #1
I now know what it would be like to have 10 children - at least for 1 week!
We climbed to the top of Ice Cream Canyon! It was really steep, but really cool!
SWEET 16
On May 25th my beautiful sweet "Squeezer" turned 16! We call her Squeezer because when she was a baby Justin use to say "I just want to Squeeze her" which turned into us calling her Squeezer! We are so proud of her and are grateful to have her in our family!
FHE at the Lake
On May 16th we started our yearly tradition of going to Lake Pleasant most spring and summer Monday's for Family Home Evening. We invite all of the boats in our ward to go, and take as many families as possible with us. It is always a great time!
Phoenix Temple - Coming Soon!
This is where the new Phoenix Temple will be some day!
This is what new Phoenix Temple will look like!
Our Favorite Phoenix Missionary!
Elder Colton Mouritsen is serving in the Phoenix Mission right now. Colton is a long time family friend of ours. Colton's uncle Trever Figgins served his mission in Tennessee with Justin. Justin and Trever have kept in contact all of these years. Colton is the son of Trever's sister Aimee. For many years, our family, Trever's family and Aimee's family have gone to Lake Powell together. Both Trever's and Aimee's families live in Utah. When we found out that Colton would be serving his mission in Phoenix we were very excited and told his parents that we would keep an eye on him! So on his birthday we had dinner and a birthday cake for him. He is an amazing missionary!
Easter 2011
I love Easter! The Easter Bunny comes to our house on Friday night. This way we have all day Saturday to enjoy all of the chocolate and candy we want! We are then able to focus on the true meaning of Easter on Sunday morning. Every year we get new Easter dresses (or ties), which is always fun for me! After church we then celebrate again! A big FEAST a GIANT easter egg hunt, and then followed by a GIGANTIC plastic egg war! At the end of the war we are usually covered in welts, but it is way worth it! My brother Jason started the egg war tradition about 5 years ago and it just gets more fun every year!
1st Time Camping!
Yes, it is true, our girls had never been camping before we went with the young women in our ward! They had a great time, but didn't think they needed to do it very often!
