From the Beginning

Here is everything from the beginning........

Dave and I met in September of 2005 at the ABC Gym in Boulder City. We went on our first date a few nights later and from that point forward, we were attached at the hip. We got married in March 2006!!

We moved in with his parents to save money to buy a house! In November of 2006 we decided to "try" and get pregnant. We figured by the time the baby was born, we would be in our own place. What we didn't know, it sometimes takes longer that you think!! We kept on trying and figured when the time was right it would happen!
In April of 2007 we bought our house.....I figured it was now the right time!! After months of false pregnancy tests, obviously there were other plans for us, so we gave up and thought we would just try in a few years!

Shortly after, I received news that my Mom had cancer. Not ever being super close with my Mom, I didn't know what this meant for us (her and I). She decided that she wanted to move from Nevada to Colorado with my sister. She wanted to be with her grandkids and spend time with her close family!
I believe my first trip out to see her was for Christmas. She wanted to celebrate Christmas with all of her family, just in case it was her last. Dave and I spent 2 weeks in Colorado..........while on my trip I began feeling sick and things seemed different. My Mom asked if I was pregnant, but I figured I was getting the flu. The morning after we left Colorado, I took a pregnancy test and it was POSITIVE!

My Mom and I began to talk everyday! We talked about babies, birth, family, cancer, dieing, funeral arrangments, old times, sports.....you name it and we talked about it!! I am so glad that we were able to get close, share stories and create a connection we never had! I visited several times during my pregnancy and just couldn't believe that my Mom would not be around forever!!

I gave birth to my son Zane on 8-18-2008.

3 weeks later, Zane and I were on a plane to Colorado. I wanted my mom to see him before she passed. When I was there we got to talking about her and what she wanted to do with the time she had left. She mentioned coming back Nevada and dieing. She wanted to die in the state where she raised her kids and she wanted to spend time with her newest grandchild.

In the beginning of October, my Mom moved in with me. This were the hardest, yet best month ever!! She got to hold and spend time with Zane, and spend more time with me. Yes, I say month, because she passed away on November 6th 2008.

We set her funeral for January 2009 so family from Colorado had time to plan a trip. A few days after the funeral I found out I was expecting another baby!! I thought WOW....... these babies will be close together!!

With all the chaos in a persons life, time flew.......really fast.
Soon enough, Zane turned 1.

There has been so many great and tragic things that have happened in our lives in just a few short years. I know I focused alot on my Mom, but she was everything to me and I miss her so much. I hope she realizes that she was a great Mom and did everything she could to make us who we are today and I hope she is proud of who I am today!! When times get tough, I want her here. I want her to see Zane and Xavier grow and tell me I am doing the right things as a Mom. Who would have thought being a Mom was so hard! I love you MOM!!

I LOVE MY FAMILY AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER..........

BRING ON 2011 CAUSE THESE 4RODS ARE UP FOR THE CHALLENGE!!
