Who Will Kiss Me Goodnight?
Purchase options and add-ons
When you’re widowed, nobody gives you a handbook of what to expect, who to contact, what resources you’ll need, what to look out for.
I kept a diary during the 93 days while my husband was dying in 2016.
The book is my story of the mistakes I made and, more importantly, what I learned.
This is not only vital information for anyone who has lost or is on the verge of losing a spouse (or a parent), but it’s also good information for anyone to have on hand because honestly, we’re all going to be there one day..

A Message of Love to the End — and beyond
Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2024Judi Sheeks asks the question that someday all who experience loss will ask — “who will kiss me goodnight?”, with her prose exposing her heart on every page.
The message for me was one of love, empathy, fear, perseverance, and rebirth. This is more than a handbook that addresses its seminal question, as it is indeed a reflection of how kindness can shape a person’s soul for the benefit of everyone around them. That is truly the case that Judi makes for us all who will read the wonderful telling of her tragic story and also of her triumph.
If you have lost a loved one, read this book with a box of tissues, but also understand that the catharsis that it provides will help you along your path, not to remove your pain, but to embrace the process that must include pain for it to facilitate your eventual healing.
If you have not yet experienced such pain, read this book so when such does enter your life, you can face it with both the knowledge that will help you through it and the power for you to live with it.
If there is someone you love who has, or will someday experience such loss, gift them a copy of Judi’s book and know you are sending them one of the best love letters that anyone can send.
Thank you Judi for sending this to me and all who share your mission of spreading kindness and joy to all who cross your path.
Your brother from another mother, Mark 7:16.

Beautiful and helpful
Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2024Judi addresses some issues normally kept quiet - what it's like to lose your spouse. This is helpful for knowing how to love others who've been through loss and I'm sure it's helpful for those who've experienced it. She's a lovely writer with a compassionate heart.

A very personal account of dealing with the death of a loved one
Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2024When a loved one dies there is a pain that nothing will subdue. It never really gets better, you just learn to live with it, and the sharp edged round off a little over time.
Judi had an worse experience, it was a long, drawn-out process. She could see the end coming. When it finally did, she appears to have been conflicted: glad that the suffering was over, at the same time as being devastated at losing the love of her life.
This book details this process and then then having to deal with the bureaucracy of multiple different organizations. She helpfully lists steps you can take to help make this process easier for the people in your life.
This book talks about a subject that people avoid talking about.
Buy it. Read it.
