Her Baptism

Image
The big day was Saturday!  Adrienne turned 8, and was ready to be baptized.  I had a friend take some amazing pictures in her baptism dress a few months ago, and we used them for her invitations, the program, the video, and the display table.  I also used a website to make her pink and gold invitations.
Image
Her sweet little dress was a $20 steal from Burlington Coat factory, and her sweater was from the Children's Place. I sewed on sleeves for the actual day since it was now July (and the pictures were taken in March). I loved her headband, purchased from Icing I think.
Friends and family came to celebrate with us, and we felt so loved that so many people were willing to participate in and come to her big day.

She had her favorite primary teacher Sister Hayes, and her favorite missionary Elder Gurney give talks, and she asked our home teacher to say a closing prayer.  Her uncle and grandpa were witnesses, and her dad baptized and confirmed her (she was very worried she was going to have to be dunked more than once, and thought that would be pretty embarrassing but it all went just fine!).  And she received lots of treats and fun things from her primary leaders, family and friends.

We decorated our dining room for her celebratory lunch afterwards.  Her favorite place to eat is Subway so we did simple sub sandwiches, chips and veggies and some yummy Sams Club Cupcakes that I just added my own sprinkles and cupcake toppers to.

We also had backyard bubbles, ball toss, hula hoops, volleyball, and fishing set up for the kids to occupy themselves with while the adults visited. (and I was busy talking and only got two of them in action. The rest are from after the party!)

We are so proud of our sweet girl for promising to follow Christ, to do what He would do, and to always try to choose the right.  It was such a fun day!

Someone is Middle Aged!

Image

Chuckie turned.......30!    We had a low-key celebration with both families as we dined at the japanese hibachi grill of his choice.

His mom was also kind enough to bring some old photos of him, that we all laughed about.  My sister created a nice meme for the best one:

He was gifted some comfy lounging clothes, a nice watch box from myself so maybe he wont lose his wedding ring again, and a few gray hairs.  He wont admit it. I will include a picture from his younger days to remind him of his youth.

See?  Not a care in the world but fishing that day!

Then Brody turned 5 the next day, and I agreed to host him a real friends party this time.  He invited some man friends over for the big event.   It was so cute to watch them play!

They colored their own race cars, ate some pizza and cake, and made their own racing board character while waiting their turn to take a spin on the Wii.
Image
Chain Chomp is one of the characters in the game, and the partiers had a chance to bash him to the ground, where he spilled candy and golden coins.  So glad it was above 40 degrees that day, I really didn't want this done in the house;)

Bro really enjoyed his gifts.  He even leaped up out of the chair and hugged a few people at one point.
Image

He is now 5!   He loves Legos, Dinosaurs, cars, trucks and trains.  He is our quiet and serious guy, and he can play on his own for hours and be content.  He is also very precise and a rule-follower, and annoys his parents and siblings with these 2 characteristics at times.  He is so sweet and goofy and we love him!

Birthday Week!

Another fantastic year as I still hold on to those 20's....got to celebrate with friends and go out for ice cream one night and was loaded up with flowers, jewelry and candies...love my friends!  Went to a few lunches with friends and family,

and Chuckie and the kids also celebrated with some flowers and chocolates, and a trip to Kohls!

Oh and my brother sent me this.  We think Grumpy Cat is hilarious.

What did I do on my actual birthday?  I found this photo on Pinterest and I don't know
Image

why I think its so cheesy and funny, but it is.  It was my inspiration to get a pizza that we could eat all by ourselves after the kids went to bed and rent a Redbox movie.
Best birthday ever.

Although, as having never had a pizza so large to oneself before, I got so sick I couldn't even try the dessert or popcorn.

Later that week, we went to the Fall Festival.
