365 Pro Toolkit close-before-update note
When updating 365 Pro Toolkit with the Windows EXE installer, close the running application before starting the update. In managed deployments, leaving the app open can make the update fail with Exit Code 1 instead of completing cleanly.
For Intune, ConfigMgr, or other software-distribution tooling, treat this as an app-specific conflicting-process rule: notify the user and defer, or close the 365 Pro Toolkit process before launching the installer. Afterward, verify both the Add/Remove Programs entry and the installed binaries so a failed in-place update is not mistaken for a detection-rule problem.
