AD Pro Toolkit managed update pre-close note
For managed AD Pro Toolkit updates, close any running AD Pro Toolkit session before starting the Windows installer. The EXE x64 package can return Exit Code 1 when the application is open during an update, so Intune, ConfigMgr, RMM, or PSADT deployments should use a conflicting-process rule or user prompt/close step before invoking the updater.
Use the official Active Directory Pro product page as the source of record for AD Pro Toolkit packages and release information: AD Pro Toolkit.
AD Pro Toolkit close-before-update note
For managed AD Pro Toolkit updates, treat the desktop application as a conflicting process. the AD Pro Toolkit EXE-x64 package as returning Exit Code 1 when the app is open during the update, so Intune, ConfigMgr, or WSUS-based rollout rings should close the running tool or notify the user before starting the installer.
This matters because a failed admin-tool update can leave helpdesk machines on a stale build even though the deployment attempted. Keep the official AD Pro Toolkit product/download page in the package source record, then verify the installed version after closing the app and rerunning the update.
