Ark Jupyter kernel registration commands
For Posit Ark outside the Positron bundle, install the Jupyter kernel spec after placing the release binary where the target user or machine can execute it. The official Ark README shows the registration command as ark --install; after that, Jupyter frontends can select the ark kernel, and command-line validation can use jupyter console --kernel=ark.
Keep the app identity separate from KDE Ark or ARK game/server tooling: this package is the Posit R kernel for Jupyter applications. The README also notes that Ark is bundled with Positron for the easiest no-extra-install path, and that LSP/DAP features are currently practical through Positron.
Sources: official posit-dev/ark README and releases.
For managed Ark Windows updates, close Ark before launching the installer. The EXE x64 package can return Exit Code 1 when the application is open during update, so add a pre-update close or conflicting-process step and verify the executable is relaunched from the updated files afterward.

Ark is an R kernel for Jupyter applications and serves as the interface between R and the Positron IDE. It is currently in active development and beta status. Ark is not signed or notarized on macOS and may require manual permission to run. It can be installed via command line after downloading the release binary.
