AutoCAD deployment and update pre-close note
For current AutoCAD enterprise deployments, generate a custom deployment image from Autodesk Account and use the generated install command rather than a bare setup.exe from a random extracted folder. The deployment image normally calls Autodesk Installer in quiet offline mode, for example:
Installer.exe -i deploy --offline_mode -q -o Collection.xml --installer_version 1.24.0.12
Keep the generated Collection.xml and deployment content together so product selection, licensing, language, and component choices match what Autodesk generated. For managed updates, pre-close AutoCAD before starting the installer. AutoCAD 2021-2026 and AutoCAD LT 2022-2026 updates as capable of hanging and never launching while AutoCAD is open, so ConfigMgr, Intune, or PSADT deployments should use conflicting-process handling or a user prompt/close step before invoking the Autodesk installer.
AutoCAD updates can hang or fail to run unless all AutoCAD instances are closed first. Close AutoCAD before managed upgrades and verify the installed build after deployment. Source: official AutoCAD source.
