Azure Monitor Agent update and prerequisite note
For managed Azure Monitor Agent updates on Windows, schedule the MSI update so the agent is not held open and use a pre-close/service-aware maintenance window. If the agent is still active during update, the installer can return Exit Code 1.
On clean images, also pre-stage the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable x64 before deploying or updating Azure Monitor Agent, then install from Microsoft’s Azure Monitor Agent documentation/source.

For managed Azure Monitor Agent MSI-x64 updates, make sure agent maintenance is not blocked by an active/running installer context before retrying setup. This update can fail with Exit Code 1; verify the agent service state and installed version after the MSI completes.
