BAconnected close-before-update and BrightSign source note
For managed BAconnected deployments, stage packages from BrightSign’s official software-downloads page rather than from a mirrored installer URL, because the application belongs with the BrightSign/BA connected tooling family and source drift can make update detection harder to troubleshoot.
Before updating BAconnected, close the running desktop application in the user session. The x64 installer/update path can return Exit Code 1 when BAconnected is still open, so Intune, ConfigMgr, or PSADT deployments should prompt/close the app first and then retry once the process is gone instead of repeatedly launching the installer while the UI is active.
