Brave close-before-update note
For managed Brave browser updates, close Brave before running setup. If browser windows remain open, the update can fail with Exit Code 1; close Brave first and verify the installed version after installation.
Source: Brave official source.
Brave deployment prerequisite note
For managed Brave browser deployments on clean Windows images, stage Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable as an explicit prerequisite before installing or updating Brave. Tracking the runtime separately keeps browser package detection and update troubleshooting distinct from prerequisite remediation.
Official application source: Brave downloads.
Deployment tip
For silent enterprise deployment of Brave Browser, download the BraveBrowserStandaloneEnterpriseX64.exe offline installer from the Brave for Business GitHub releases page and run it with the command-line arguments –silent –install to suppress UI and enable logging via a wrapper script.
