ClamAV – Command-line note

Deploy ClamAV on Windows by extracting the official ZIP archive to your target directory, then use elevated Command Prompt commands clamd.exe install, sc config ClamD start=auto, and sc config FreshClam start=auto to register and enable the scanning daemon and update services for automatic startup. Copy and rename conf_examples/clamd.conf.sample to clamd.conf and freshclam.conf.sample to freshclam.conf in the install root, editing paths in freshclam.conf as needed before starting services with net start ClamD and net start FreshClam. This approach enables scalable, scriptable deployment without UI interaction or MSI dependencies.
