CLAN managed update close-before-update note
For managed CLAN EXE updates, close CLAN before starting the installer. The current x86 package can return Exit Code 1 when CLAN is open during update, so deployment tooling should include a conflicting-process prompt or pre-close step instead of retrying the same installer silently.
Use the official CLAN download page as the source reference: https://dali.talkbank.org/clan/. After deployment, verify the Add/Remove Programs entry and the launched CLAN version so an in-use application does not leave endpoints partially updated.
