CloudCompare update pre-close and release-source note
For managed CloudCompare Windows updates, close CloudCompare before launching the installer. The Windows package can return Exit Code 1 when CloudCompare is still open during update; add a pre-update close or conflicting-process step and verify the app relaunches from the updated binaries afterward.

On clean Windows images, stage the required Microsoft Visual C++ runtimes before deploying CloudCompare. This package has been observed as dependency-sensitive for both the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) and the current Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable (x64); model those runtimes as separate prerequisites/detection rules instead of relying on the CloudCompare installer to repair them during an app update.
