DevProxy – Command-line note
Dev Proxy can be installed silently using WinGet with the command winget install Microsoft.DevProxy --silent, but you must restart the command prompt after installation to refresh the PATH environment variable before the tool becomes usable. For enterprise deployments requiring configuration management, create a devproxyrc.json configuration file in the installation directory to pre-configure plugins, proxy settings, and API behavior before initial startup, avoiding interactive certificate and firewall prompts on first run.
DevProxy – Command-line note
For unattended rollout of Dev Proxy across developer workstations, install it via the .NET tool mechanism and pre-seed a standardized configuration by running dotnet tool install dev-proxy --global under the target user context and then dropping a centrally managed devproxyrc.json (aligned to the correct $schema version) into their profile or workspace, defining the required plugins array and any plugin configSection blocks needed for your organization’s API simulations.
