DFexplore

For managed DFexplore MSI updates, close DFexplore before starting the installer. The MSI update can return Exit Code 1618 when the application is open during the update process, so Intune, ConfigMgr, RMM, or PSADT deployments should include a conflicting-process prompt or pre-close step.

Use DFnet’s official DFdiscover downloads page, which lists the DFexplore component, as the source reference: https://www.dfnetresearch.com/dfdiscover-cdms/downloads/. After deployment, verify the Add/Remove Programs entry and application version instead of treating the open-process condition as a generic MSI failure.
