DFsend MSI managed update close-before-update note
For managed DFsend MSI updates, close DFsend before starting the installer. The MSI update can return Exit Code 1618 when DFsend is open during the update process, so add a conflicting-process prompt or pre-close step before retrying the installer.
Use DFnet’s official DFdiscover downloads page, which lists the DFsend component, as the source reference: https://www.dfnetresearch.com/dfdiscover-cdms/downloads/. After deployment, verify the Add/Remove Programs entry and application version to catch endpoints blocked by a running instance.
