Fortify managed update close-before-update note

For managed Fortify MSI updates, close Fortify before starting the installer. The current x64 MSI package can return Exit Code 1 when Fortify is open during the update process, so Intune, ConfigMgr, RMM, or PSADT deployments should include a conflicting-process prompt or pre-close step for Fortify instead of treating the result as a generic MSI failure.

Use the official Fortify product site for source validation: https://fortifyapp.com/. After deployment, verify that Add/Remove Programs and the launched application both show the intended version, because an open-process update failure can otherwise leave the endpoint looking partially updated.

Fortify is based on Electron and Node.js, using node-webcrypto-p11 and PVPKCS11 for cryptographic access. It establishes secure sessions using a Double Ratchet protocol and a local TLS certificate. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
