GitHub CLI Windows MSI deployment note
For managed Windows deployments of GitHub CLI, use the official MSI assets from the project release page, such as gh__windows_amd64.msi or gh__windows_arm64.msi. A quiet install can use standard Windows Installer syntax, for example msiexec.exe /i gh__windows_amd64.msi /qn /norestart /Lv %WINDIR%\Temp\GitHubCLI-Install.log.
For detection and post-install validation, check the installed CLI directly with gh --version rather than relying only on a downloaded filename. During uninstall or replacement, use the MSI product entry/standard Windows Installer uninstall path for the installed GitHub CLI package and keep the log path writable by the install context.
