GMT is a collection of freely available command-line tools under the GNU LGPL that allows manipulation of x,y and x,y,z data sets and produces publication-quality illustrations including maps, plots, and 3-D views. It supports over 30 map projections and is widely used in Earth, Ocean, and Planetary sciences.
