iTunes prerequisite and Apple Mobile Device Support driver note
For managed iTunes deployments, keep the Apple support/download source with the package and plan the bundled Apple prerequisites explicitly instead of treating them as optional extras. Apple iTunes deployments should model these dependencies explicitly: the x64 package depends on Apple Bonjour (x64) and Apple Mobile Device Support (x64), while the x86 package depends on the matching Apple Bonjour (x86) and Apple Mobile Device Support (x86) components.
Also validate the Apple Mobile Device Support driver payload when packaging iTunes for machines that sync iPhone or iPad devices. for device-sync deployments, verify that Apple Mobile Device Support actually lays down the expected driver folder after installation; check for %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers during acceptance testing instead of relying only on the iTunes Add/Remove Programs entry.
That matters for Intune or ConfigMgr packaging because those prerequisites may need their own detection and install order before iTunes detection is evaluated. If USB device recognition is part of the requirement, pair your package validation with Apple’s device-recognition troubleshooting page: If your computer does not recognize your iPhone or iPad – Apple Support.
