JASP Visual C++ prerequisite and download source note

For managed JASP Windows deployments, preinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 Redistributable before running the JASP installer. Model the runtime as an explicit dependency in Intune, ConfigMgr, RMM, or PSADT packages so install and update detection happens only after the required runtime is present.

Use the official JASP download page as the package source for Windows builds, then use normal Add/Remove Programs or executable-version detection after setup completes.

Sources: JASP downloads; Microsoft latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads.

JASP offers advantages over SPSS such as state-of-the-art meta-analysis and APA-publishing compatibility. The software is actively maintained with frequent beta and stable releases.
