Configuration tip

Kate’s official handbook documents useful CLI launch options for automation, including kate --help and kate -s/--start to open a new session, and it also supports opening a specific working directory by passing the path on the command line (for example, kate C:PathToFolder or kate /path/to/folder). For per-user deployment of custom syntax assets, place files under KDE’s user data path (org.kde.syntax-highlighting/syntax beneath the platform-specific application-data directory) so Kate picks them up after restart; no MSI properties or silent-install switches are documented in the official Kate documentation.
